Top Secret Twenty-One: A Stephanie Plum Novel
Top Secret Twenty-One: A Stephanie Plum Novel | Janet Evanovich

#1 "NEW YORK TIMES "BESTSELLER Don t miss Janet Evanovich s short story Pros and Cons in the back of the book. Catch a professional assassin: top priority. Find a failure-to-appear and collect big bucks: top score. How she ll pull it all off: top secret. Trenton, New Jersey s favorite used-car dealer, Jimmy Poletti, was caught selling a lot more than used cars out of his dealerships. Now he s out on bail and has missed his date in court, and bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is looking to bring him in. Leads are quickly turning into dead ends, and all too frequently into dead bodies. Even Joe Morelli, the city s hottest cop, is struggling to find a clue to the suspected killer s whereabouts. These are desperate times, and they call for desperate measures. So Stephanie is going to have to do something she really doesn t want to do: protect former hospital security guard and general pain in her behind Randy Briggs. Briggs was picking up quick cash as Poletti s bookkeeper and knows all his boss s dirty secrets. Now Briggs is next on Poletti s list of people to put six feet under. To top things off, Ranger resident security expert and Stephanie s greatest temptation has been the target of an assassination plot. He s dodged the bullet this time, but if Ranger wants to survive the next attempt on his life, he ll have to enlist Stephanie s help and reveal a bit more of his mysterious past. Death threats, highly trained assassins, highly "untrained" assassins, and Stark Street being overrun by a pack of feral Chihuahuas are all in a day s work for Stephanie Plum. The real challenge is dealing with her Grandma Mazur s wild bucket list. A boob job and getting revenge on Joe Morelli s Grandma Bella can barely hold a candle to what s number one on the list but that s "top secret." Praise for "Top Secret Twenty-One" "" The combination of biting dialogue, outrageous characters and intense story lines are consistent throughout. And [Janet Evanovich] novels are the true definition of a guilty pleasure. Associated Press Evanovich doesn t disappoint. . . . [She] weaves setting, family, romance and crime to pull the plot of "Top Secret Twenty-One" forward. "Bookreporter""

Death threats, highly trained assassins, highly untrained assassins, and Stark Street being overrun by a pack of feral Chihuahuas are all in a day‘s work for Plum; the real challenge is dealing with her Grandma Mazur‘s wild bucket list….Plum is, as well, doing a balancing act between her 2 favorite-though unpredictable-MEN!

While I didn‘t laugh as hard through this book as I have with others of Janet Evanovoch‘s, I still enjoyed the adventures/misadventures of Stephanie Plum with Russian Spies, feral Chihuahuas, and her usual crazy types of bond skips.

One of those nights where I can‘t settle down to any of the books I‘m already reading, so i grabbed this off the to-read shelf. Can‘t go wrong with Steph Plum right?!

LeeRHarry Definitely not 😊 6y
Verity @LeeRHarry I know some people wish Evanovich would pick either Joe or Ranger, but tbh as long as I don‘t read the books too close together, I‘m happy with the limbo: mostly because I can‘t decide who I prefer! 6y
LeeRHarry I'd pick Ranger, always have always will, but that's just me -I don't mind either if the limbo continues 😊 6y
BlueStockingReviews I can‘t decide either! 6y

1. Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. (I know, I know...not exactly Brain food but I'm picking this series because it's the longest running series I've read and I will keep reading until she's done. 💁🏼).
2. BBQ as a dipping sauce.
3. Heights but only if I'm sitting/standing still (think top of Ferris wheel when it stops).
4. 4 brothers
5. Off to meet some Littens 💁🏼🤗😬

rockpools It's a fun series! 7y
ItsAngel @RachelO it's mindless and silly! Part of what I love. 7y

When the power goes out and you just finished the ebook you were reading on the iPad, you really don't regret paying extra to keep your iPad on your data plan.

Another great one. Not as funny as the last. But I love Briggs being a nice guy. I loved the dogs too.

I've had a #girlcrush on Stephanie Plum for quite a while! She's strong, fearless, courageous, loyal and funny. Her life's a bit messed up, but she always comes out on top. And her stories are hilarious. 😂 #octphotochallenge #day7

Laura317 Grandma Mazur is hilarious! 8y
PurpleyPumpkin @Laura317 Isn't she? I love her too. 😊 8y
Lauren_reading I adore this series! Her car troubles is one of my fav story lines - blown up, stolen...anything could happen 😀 8y
PurpleyPumpkin @LaurenReads So true! But Ranger's always there with a loner. What a guy!😉 8y

Ok, let me just start by saying the Stephanie Plum novels aren't thought-provoking literature or prose, but I enjoy them. I like to imagine Ranger looks like Vin Diesel, which makes me very happy! Stephanie's antics always keeps me turning the pages - or swiping on my Kindle!

I know, everyone says these books are predictable and formulaic, but sometimes that's what you want to read - something entertaining and funny. It's like watching sitcom reruns.

AnnieReads I agree with your sentiment. I love this series. It's simple and fun and never fails to entertain me. 8y
SamaraBear I agree! I call them "my beach trash novels." And despite the overall formula and fact that you don't get a whole lot from her books, I still enjoy reading them! 8y
MrsV I love these books. Lula and Grandma Mazur are hilarious. 8y
