Sorry, @TheReadingMermaid. This is just not happening for me.

I gave it 50 pages to start becoming anything other than an incoherent jumble of lopsided exposition, and I can't hold my nose and power through this stinky prose any longer.

I love sci fi. Sci fi is my jam. But this combines the most esoteric and least likable qualities of the hard sci fi and cyberpunk subgenres, and ain't nobody got time for that.

MirrorMask Same! I couldn't get into it, and after reading The Diamond Age (ugh) I didn't want to force myself to read another book. I love sci fi but this book wasn't for me. 6y

2BR02B @MirrorMask Have you read any other Stephenson? I haven't read The Diamond Age, but from what I've read I definitely prefer his later books. 6y

Slajaunie Ditto on the too hot to read outside. South Louisiana does not have a whole lot of time to read outside unless you are in a pool. I love to be outside so naturally that means read outside though. 6y

AlaMich I love to read outside on our beautiful patio. My perfect reading weather is about 75 with a light breeze...😛I also don‘t really like being in direct sun so I have to sit under an umbrella. 6y

MirrorMask I have to bail on the first section. After forcing myself to finish The Diamond Age, I can't do it with Accelerando. It's not holding my interest at all. I like science fiction, but both books are just bad. Sorry! 6y

BeansPage @MirrorMask don't worry about it sweetie. I've read all of the books in this section with the exception of Ready Player One which is what I'm reading right now. They are all a bit tough to read. So far Necropolis has been the easiest one to read. I'm feeling that Ready Player One will also be easier to read than the other two. If you can get a hold of either of those books it would probably be a lot easier on you. 6y

MirrorMask I'm not a fan of Ready Player One and I could possibly do Necropolis, but Accelerando was the required book. 6y

BeansPage @MirrorMask that's okay sweetie I'm going to let it slide for people with this section. If you've already read Ready Player One then you have one book down. If you could read Necropolis then that would be more than sufficient. 6y

2BR02B I'm starting Accelerando tonight! Not sure how I'll manage the art project, since I'm moving in the next couple of weeks and my art supplies are already packed. 🤔 6y

mimsyborogroves I'm not sure if I will actually be able to finish Accelerando by Saturday, I have not started reading it because of my final exams and so I'd have to read the entire thing tomorrow- tomorrow, when I also must complete two scholarships as they are due on Saturday. I have read Ready Player One and the art project should be fine but I might need to cut into the next section a bit to finish Accelerando on top of everything I have going on right now. 6y

Traci1 Just fyi. It's even worse on audio. I've listened to about 90 minutes. I don't think I'm going to be able to finish it. 😕 6y

Interesting read to say the least...
Ugh yet another dystopian novel that I didn't really care for. Perhaps the dystopian genre in general is just not for me. I would definitely recommend to somebody who likes dystopian novels but this book just holds no interest for me personally.
