Life Choices
Life Choices: The Teachings of Abortion | Linda Weber
5 posts
This book explores the spiritual essence of abortion, its historical context, and the empowering lessons of the abortion experience. Abortion can help anyone learn the importance of making conscious choices about how we live our lives. It opens the way to greater connection with life, love, death, and power. It is a rite of passage from identifying as a victim to knowing from the heart. It is a legitimate experience. The essentially pro-life nature of abortion asks us to learn to accept death as part of the flow of life. Misunderstanding and denying the importance of death in life is one of the main reasons for the ferocious "abortion wars". Making conscious choices about pregnancy shows us how we are part of nature, not separate from it. Coming to grips with abortion, both individually and collectively, is a step down the road to taking responsibility for the well being of all life. Women are rising and becoming empowered on a world scale. This book explains how this natural historical development is guided by experiences that put us in direct conflict with limited definitions of ourselves, which can keep us tied to the ways of patriarchy. For many women, having an abortion is fraught with conflicts about personal worth. When the issues are faced and worked through, personal pain transforms into personal power. Embracing the power to carry through with or turn back pregnancy empowers women to bring love into the world in new and stronger ways.

Littens, some help, please! 😘
I have several heavy reads this month and for Friday evening I need a break. So I made a targeted library raid. 😆 Which one of these is best suited for end of week fatigue and a glass of wine? (And do any of them end in cliffhangers? This is important as I didn't pick up any sequels!)

Martta The Maze runner is very entertaining but it does end with a cliffhanger. 😊 7y
Chrissyreadit I‘ve only read Illuminae and The Maze Runner. Both go on to sequels. I do think Illuminae could be read and the sequel not urgent. 7y
Kalalalatja I loved Caraval, and I don‘t believe it ended in too big of a cliffhanger, but there is supposed to be a sequel, but it isn‘t out yet 👍 7y

MarriedtoMrT Illuminae! Great book plus the non-traditional format is good for end of the week fatigue, IMO. 7y
LibrarianRyan Illuminae looks huge, but it goes quickly because of format. And it's worth it. Caravan is good but drags. I was not a fan of the maze runner books but I loved the movies. They were fine but slow. 7y
Leniverse @Martta @Chrissyreadit @Kalalalatja @MarriedtoMrT @LibrarianRyan Thank you! Putting away Maze Runner for now. Looks like I'll give Illuminae a go. Caraval looks a bit too massive. I've also been advised that the Raven Boys is good and not too cliffhanger-y. No word on the Bardugo book yet. 🤔 7y
Beachesnbooks I loved Illuminae! The unconventional format makes it super easy to get through. 7y
LibrarianRyan @Leniverse yeah. I'm looking forward to book 3 next month. 7y
eraderneely Bardugo also very good; not too cliffhangery. 7y
Leniverse @eraderneely Thanks. 🙂 7y
