Even though I'm not a sports fan and I know nothing about soccer, I've loved this book since I was about 10, and reread it every few years. I read it with my 8th graders this year and was glad to see they enjoyed it just as much as I do.

Liked this a lot but did not feel like it quite lived up to the hype. The author seemed to shove as many social issues into a novel as possible and didn‘t always give them the due diligence they deserved. Still glad I read it and will be putting it in my classroom. Also, this is on my floor because where I am quarantining I have no desk 😂😂😂 #teachersoflitsy

Tangerine is a great book young adult fiction about a boy named Paul Fisher who moves to Tangerine County Florida. A kid who has a dream of playing soccer but is put down because his dad only supports his football playing older brother.

I haven't read any basketball books but this is an outstanding YA novel that features soccer. LOL

I had to read this book for school and I could not for the life of me get into it, I wanted to but I couldn't. The story like was okay but just the way it was written maybe?

One of my favorite YA novels of all time. This book is often billed as a sports book, but sports take a back seat to race, class, family dynamics, and self discovery as themes. It's dark and well written, with skillful use of imagery.
