Book 2 of the Inspector Morse series. There were so many possible outcomes here, even Morse was confused!

Taking photos of beautiful books in glass cabinets is lowkey kind of frustrating- but check this out! They should republish the series with these covers, stat.
Valerie Taylor went missing 2 years ago. When what purports to be a letter from her arrives, Morse is assigned to re-open the cold case and if possible find her.
Lewis gets increasingly exasperated as Morse leaps from conclusion to conclusion based on little or no evidence. I knew how he felt. It does rather give the impression that Morse eventually stumbles across the truth by sheer chance rather than any powers of ratiocination.
HE FELT QUITE pleased with himself. Difficult to tell for certain, of course; but yes, quite pleased with himself really.

Bk7 of my #MarchUnshelfing #challenge is done. After more than 10yrs on my #MountTBRShelvesOfDoom I can finally cross them off the list. This 2nd story in the omnibus wasn‘t as good as the 1st,especially at the end it was a bit of a mess.So it‘s a so-so from me,but I‘ll be persevering with the Morse series, they must get better coz they‘re considered crime classics. Not sure what I‘ll be reading next, do library books count in the Unshelfing tally?
Second Morse read. Not as good as the first with a slightly disappointing end. Still well written and enjoyable read. Morse does however seem to change his mind about the cases and almost stumbles on to the murderer by accident.
Always nice when your home patch gets a mention. Now I wonder what remote village it was!!
The TV series was so well done (hubby is a big fan), I decided to give the books a try. This was my 2nd in the series and I'll definitely continue.
Next up more Morse with a nice boxing day tipple. And maybe some chocolate. Oh who am I kidding, definitely some chocolate.
