I am going to miss traveling the world with the Oxenreider family.
I am going to miss traveling the world with the Oxenreider family.
An interesting read about a family who pack up and travel the world. Didn‘t really go in to a lot of details about the logistics of working and learning while on the move. But a nice overall summary.
I‘d have liked more... I felt like Oxenreider just scratched the surface in most areas and I would have liked more depth. That withstanding, this is a lovely reflection on home, travel and what matters.
book 3 for #15books15weeks. Yikes. I better pick up the pace!
This is not my favorite travel memoir, but in the middle of my husband‘s busy-season at work, this passage is really resonating with my mom heart. 🧡
New book in carline...I don‘t expect this to help my wanderlust. 🌎
It‘s your basic blogger memoir. Nothing deep or illuminating about traveling the world. I‘d love to travel the world with my kids, so I enjoyed it.
I have a feeling this won‘t help my wanderlust...
This month, I‘m going to focus on books that have been piling up. I‘ll be starting this tonight so I can return it to @TheClevelander
Day 8 #ReadingResolutions photo challenge! The prompt for today was #TravelTuesday. I love this book! It is a travel memoir. Tsh and her husband took their 3 kids (under age 10) on a 9 month trip around the world and in this book she shares their experiences. It is sooooo good. Some parts had me cracking up too! And isn‘t the cover pretty!!!
I love travel memoirs. For a variety of reasons, I am not able to travel often, so I make do with armchair excursions. This was a very good selection. Oxenreider and her family are adventurous and conscientious travelers, and I felt as if I was right there with them for their journey. And what a journey it was. I'm not sure I'd have had the desire to take my 3 littles along on a trip such as this, but they seem to make it work. Recommended.
Traveling the world and writing a book about it. Yes, please.
Wishing I could travel for a year 🙃
Tsh Oxenreider and her husband and 3 kids spent a year traveling around the world together, and this is their story. I listened to it on audio and while it was fine, I think I‘d have enjoyed the paper copy more. I really enjoyed reading about the different countries they visited and how their kids enjoyed each one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Some green and red books for festive accent to the snow. I do want to read these sometime soon. ❄
Reading how I haven‘t given up on my desire to travel just because I have to wait in the school pickup line...while I‘m in the school pickup line 🌎
Satisfying armchair travelling
I travel the world with my three daughters and started taking them on trips when they were just a few weeks old. So, I'm excited to read a book about another traveling family!
Loved this book. If you like travel, Europe, living differently, family, friends, importance of community.... read this!
This book is fantastic especially for reminiscing and dreaming
I picked this one to read on our fifteen hour car ride home from Washington, DC. Our vacation is on a much smaller scale than Oxenreider's family's nine month trip around the world but I'm still feeling a kinship with her.
Loving this book so far. Already wanting to pack my bags!
This book is making me want to go #roadtripping with #BleeckerthePug
#BookRiot #2017ReadingChallenge #travelmemoir
This book is definitely not my genre, so it was a little tough for me. I did find her writing enjoyable and some of the stories cute, but travel memoirs are just not my thing.
I am done reading tonight, but I will be starting this lovely tomorrow.
This is a sweet, thoughtful memoir of a family's around-the-world travels. If you're fond of Tsh from blogs or podcasts, you will almost certainly love this, and I figure even those who have never heard of her would have a good chance of finding it very readable and delightful.
I really enjoyed this family travel memoir of a year spent traipsing the globe as a couple with three kids under ten in tow. It's 40% about the countries, 60% about family and friends and sense of place and community.
"The act of travel, the constant moving and shuffling of our bodies and backpacks, our dotted lines across the map, the simplicity of owning less to see more-these small acts are weaving our family's tapestry."
This brand new book is marked down to 3.99 for Kindle and the Amazon price for the hardcover is really low too. I'm excited to read it!
This arrived today📖
