so-soI enjoyed some of this because of his tone and humour but there were a few too many asides (some of which I enjoyed but some of which I glanced over).
In the end, I was a bit distracted.... it could also be due to the stuff that is happening in the world...

You know when someone says “I had a weird dream” and you inwardly groan because you know you‘re about to be bored beyond belief. This is the only man I would eagerly listen to, if he said that because he can make anything and I mean anything sound (quite) interesting. pickAs a fan of Stephen Fry from his days of playing Jeeves in the Wooster and Jeeves series with Hugh Laurie, I thought I‘d check out his autobiography. This book covers his formative years, mostly spent in various boarding schools. At times he tends to ramble and often goes off on tangents, but overall I did enjoy his look back at his many rakish exploits and growing pains.
pickAw Stephen you poor blighter! In this first volume of his autobiography Fry tells the story of his first eighteen years - doing a lot of analysis and berating himself for the troubles of his youth. Because he was a bright and privileged kid but also unhappy and with a compulsion to steal - that ultimately lead to being expelled and even doing a short stint of prison time while on remand. He‘s brutally honest, and this is a smart compelling read.

I‘ve got Proust on audio, Giant Days for a little R&R, Stephen Fry‘s autobiography and Tracks which I‘ve been meaning to read for ages. I love Louise Erdrich and Stephen Fry so I know I‘ve got a good week ahead of me 😊
so-soI'm a bit at a loss what to say. Stephen Fry was a liar and a thief and I found the book's content more horrifying than entertaining. I have Fry's second autobiography on my TBR stack, but I will wait a bit before start that.
