Got my new "librarian" glasses on. Now that I'm 40, I see better with glasses than contacts for some reason. Homage to REAL librarians, whom I worship. I think my days of vanity are over if I want to actually see words without getting sick when reading!

Trashcanman I think they look splendidly awesomely awesome. 🤗 6y
LiterRohde I‘ve worn glasses since I was a kid, so I‘ve gotten used to that, but now that I‘m over 40, I‘m starting to pull the book back and forth like I‘m trying to adjust the focus on a telescope or something. I think the dreaded bifocals are following not too far behind me! It‘s really not that big of a deal, but for some reason this milestone connotes getting old. 6y
HOTPock3tt They look good on you!! 6y

daena They look great! Since turning 40 I‘ve had the same problem. My hours comfortably in contacts has become limited as well. 6y
BridgetteM Lookin‘ good! 6y
Stacy_31 They look great! I‘ll be 38 soon and I think my days of contacts will be over soon, as well. My right eye becomes so dry and cloudy after wearing them for an extended period of time. 6y
MaGoose Love the new glasses. Librarians rock! They keep us in good reads. I was 47 when I first got reading glasses; never wore contacts. I'd be lost without my readers nowadays. 6y
Eggbeater @MaGoose Thank you! I've been assigned as your new Litsy pen pal. I am looking forward to getting to know you! I don't know how this works. Where do we exchange email addresses? I've never had a pen pal before so I am excited. 6y

Douglas, You Need Glasses written and illustrated by Ged Adamson is a book about a fun-loving dog name Douglas that just wants to be free and have fun. However, there's a problem, he has horrible eyesight; which tends to led him into some petty sticky situations. This is a RF and F book that won the Florida Sunshine State Book Award. #UCFLAE3414SP18

BriannaR A good UDL Strategy I would use for this book is 3.2 because I'll show the relationship between not having glasses and it's consequences. This is a link on how students can make their own Douglas in the classroom and can creat their own story about a dog having bad eyesight. ESOL Strategies # 1,2, and 6. 7y
AmeliaS21 I love that you took a picture of the book with glasses!! This looks like an interesting book! 7y
JordanL This would be a good book for showing a student who doesn't wear glasses that should, and show the consequences of their actions. 7y
erin.yarbrough This sounds like such a cute book! As being one of the only girls with glasses in my class, I would have loved this! 7y

This is a funny F book that follows a dog named Douglas that gets into trouble, because he can't see. Spolier alart: By the end book his owner Nancy realizes he needs glasses and takes him to get them. This is a great RA, to show students its ok to be different. #UCFLAE3414F17

CourtneyR https://celebratepicturebooks.com/tag/douglas-you-need-glasses/ the url is a activity to make after you read. UDL 7.2 Optimize relevance, value, and authencity. EL 5. Teach technical vocabulary supporting key concepts. 7y
ashley.v This would be a great book for kids who might need glasses to show them that glasses aren‘t terrible. 7y
