I've been on a true crime kick lately, watching documentaries and listening to podcasts to learn more about these terrifying crimes. This book definitely fit the bill and was a fascinating look at the serial killer Richard Ramirez and his horrific killings in Los Angeles. Philip Carlo details the crime spree and the warped mind who committed them, as well as the people who brought The Night Stalker to justice.
I believe there are stories from real life that are much more horrifying than anything a novelist could come up with. Richard Ramirez and his many crimes are an example of this.

I read a fair amount of true crime, but this was one of the grisliest and hardest to read. This was long, detailed and well-researched from the killer and victims‘ early lives through all of the events of the case being open, to the trial and what happened after. I don‘t know that I need (or want) to read another book on Richard Ramirez.

Starting this book!!! I'm in a true crime kinda mood; it's getting me excited to continue writing 'Retribution!' I'm getting so many ideas for it!!! ❤
So far so good. Part one detailed his killings and such. Now starting part 2 which chronicles his life growing up. Looking forward to it. Hoping to finish by the end of the week.
Shadow is from my miner head lamp lol. I wanted to promote my wooden book page holder. Fits like a ring on thumb and helps to keep book open.
I am obsessed with this book! I don‘t have a nightstand with light next to my bed. So I reasoned with my self the “need” to be able to read whenever and wherever I want. So I found on kindle unlimited and then downloaded the Audio. Not to mention while on amazon I ordered TWO more books that will have to get in line of upcoming books, the hillside stranglers and true crime stories 1. #bookobsessed #15booksafterthisone
Hanging out with my fuzzy girls. 74 pages in and 5 murders already. Wonder what the rest of the 500 pages are going to be about....
This was an interesting true crime novel about RIchard Ramirez. The content was well displayed and the author definitely did a lot of research on the topic. He certainly also does a good job of mimicking the style of Truman Capote‘s “In cold blood”. This is definitely a good example of a piece of creative non fiction as the author uses creative license to entice the reader through the story.
I‘m completing a training for work and there‘s a section with case studies on stalking that is creeping me out. 🙈🙈🙈 I think I‘m going to use #lookieloo in the future for tagging gift swaps and secret Santas. Join me if you like. #ssgp #SecretSanta #safespace #wordsmatter #isitjustme
For anyone who may be stalking me, I've cleaned up my Litsy TBR as well as my Goodreads one. You can find me on Goodreads at https://www.goodreads.com/cocoreads70
Good story.
Gruesome, tragic, and disturbing. Carlo walks us through the crimes, Ramirez's life, the trial, and the aftermath. Carlo's account is both informative and graphic at times. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
