I‘ve read this book no less than a dozen times — a few years ago, a friend gave me this beautiful first edition for my birthday #didion #joandidion #playitasitlays #LA

third of the saga through the mirror, a fantasy masterpiece that I didn't pay a penny for. For HARRY POTTER lovers A crazy story between a mixture of Gothic, steampunk, intrigue and magic. a parallel universe but at the same time very real in our times. a mix of mystery, animated objects, curiosities and lots of imagination. THAT THE SCARF IS WITH YOU.

If you love #comedy history you will love this book. With the recent passing of #MitziShore & the success of the Showtime series based on this book (not a retelling) it seems right to mention it in my feed. I will likely post more comedy inspiration later but this is a keeper. A great read with a lot of personal meaning for me & those who love the #comedystore and #LA #standup comedy. RIP Mitzi. :(

I went to “The last bookstore” in LA a few months ago and picked up some favorites of mine.
WHATS THE BEST BOOK YOU HAVE READ THIS YEAR? I need something new.

jmclarks_Books_Bazaar I have not but I just read the blurb and it looks amazing 7y
CaitlinR Best book I read of 2017 (if that counts) is American War. Speculative fiction about the second Civil War. The audio book is great too! 7y

Jemgirl2014 Read it late last year. It is SO good. It's a psychological suspense with elements of science fiction. The ending will blow your mind. Stephen King calls it "bloody brilliant".☺ 7y

The Big Nowhere | James Ellroy

Pickpick

The Big Nowhere was a big surprise. The second of James Ellroy‘s L.A. Quartet, the novel follows similar themes of crime, paranoia & a dark Hollywood underbelly amidst the backdrop of Los Angeles in 1950. Probably the most enjoyable crime noir fiction I‘ve read #toughguybookclub #crime #noir #LA
