I quite enjoyed this story. It‘s very descriptive and very much a slow burner. Not a lot happens really apart from the death of a boy who has been bullied. I was a little disappointed with the ending as I didn‘t think justice had been served. It‘s well written though, very Alice Hoffman with its magical realism feel. 3.5⭐️

Beautifully told story that takes place on the campus of a coed prep school...one day a body is discovered in the river...who is brave/tenacious enough to investigate this so-called suicide??

If you hope humanity will transcend, this story will crush those dreams, although a sort of justice is served. Exquisite writing, too.

Started reading Alice Hoffman with The Dovekeepers, which I love! Have brought all her stuff after that and am slowly working my way through her back catalogue! Not read this one yet.
