Here‘s my July wrap up
I‘m still reading The Hour of the Witch by Chris Bohjalian but I‘m not sure if I‘ll continue it in August.

“So long as we have breath in our lungs, we have hope. And hope is a dangerous weapon in the hands of a man with steel in his spine and fire in his belly.” - Étaín, A Gathering of Ravens by Scott Oden
The Orc redemption arc you‘ve been waiting for? Possibly.
This completes my May #bookspin pick
I thought I‘d share my reading nook today since I recently redid it.
Tagged book is my current read.
I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.
Join the fun if you want. This is day 90.

Latest book haul (purchases and/or borrows)
Just one of the books I‘ve recently brought in. Some friends sent me books just because and this is one I‘m excited to get to.
My partner also said they Seoul‘s read it to me as they also thought it sounded like a good one.

My first Oden & I enjoyed it, i liked the magic system but would of liked more. Loved the fight scenes and the characters especially Grimnir, his backstory was interesting. A story of revenge and growth, I recommend this one. However, religion is prominent in the first part, it does fade out as the story progresses, This didn't bother me but thought I'd put that out there 4⭐️ #grimdark #bookgeek #booknerd #bibliophile #bookreview #review #reader
I wanted to l love this but I didn't. This is a revenge story and while I appreciated all the bloodshed and the bits of history and mythology and the unique twist on an Orc, I didn't really like the way the religious aspects overshadowed everything else. I don't mind religion in books but the way it was expounded upon really irritated me to the point where it affected my overall enjoyment. Grimnir was an interesting character though.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
This blurb is epic: "To the Danes he is skraeling; to the English here is orcneas; to the Irish he is fomoraig. He is Corpse-maker and Life-quencher, the Bringer of Night, the Son of the Wolf and Brother of the Serpent. Here is Grimnir, and he is the last of his kind --the last in a long line of monsters who have played humanity since the Elder Days."
This sounds sooo cool, I can't wait to get put off this Fantasy Slump so I can get lost in it ?
