Set in Canon Cove, Oregon (obviously a fake city meant to be Astoria) a group of 17 ur old girls find a lost treasure map ala Goonies.

This story is similar to The Goonies movie and they have their fake Goonies call Gloomies. Great characters and fun story line. Already requested Vol 2 from the library.

I have been super MIA on Litsy, so I‘m just going to jump in with a review!

I really loved this. Not only is it a great plot (reluctant citizens of Canon Cove, the location of the cult classic The Goonies ...ahem excuse me “The Gloomies”, find a real life treasure map..and they aren‘t the only ones interested in it *dun dun dun*) But it also has great representation of POC, queer folks, and there is a legit big girl (not just a “curvy” girl) 😍😍

This graphic novel was incredibly fun especially if you‘re a fan of the Goonies, Gravity Falls, or stories involving secret codes and following treasure maps. I hope the characters are fleshed out a bit more as the story unfolds, but other than that I loved it.

Four misfit girls in a gloomy small town find a treasure map and shenanigans ensue. I loved this and can‘t wait for volume 2 to come out.

I bought a thing at Ikea and now I get to read in the yard in the shade!

I have no idea why it took me so long to read this gem, but I absolutely LOVE IT.

Sundays are great for catching up on comics.

THIS WAS BASICALLY EVERYTHING I LOVE. Seriously though. Misfit City is full of brilliant and awkward characters who I couldn't help falling for, lots of adventure and terrible no-good villains, mysteries and friendship to the max. I adored this and it may be my favorite comic I've read so far this year. ❤

Wilder, Mace, Dot, Karma, and Ed live in the small seaside town of Cannon Cove - famous for being the setting of cult classic ‘The Gloomies‘. Their days are filled with shucking oysters, messing with tourists, and generally being jaded and bored. Until they unearth a treasure map that may lead to the forgotten treasure of dreaded pirate Black Mary. Could this map be real? And where exactly is it leading them? This is a nice quirky read.
