Listened to the audiobook. Loved it!!
I have been longing for a new world to get lost in and have finally found it! This was an excellent introduction to the world and series. It is technically a prequel but at 235 pages it's no tiny novella. The story grabbed me from the first sentence and held me through the very end. I cannot wait to read The Black Witch, but I am heartbroken that Vale and Tessla aren't the focus of the main books because I love them so much.
Again, Laurie Forest nails it with this prequel to “The Black Witch”. Written and best read after reading “The Black Witch”. It is the story of Elloren‘s grandmother and parents. It also includes Gareth‘s parents and a certain professor we know from the first book. This is the story of how the black witch conquered Kelt rule. When one countries despotism is quashed, another rises.
I went on a bit of a book hangover after finishing The Iron Flower. I couldn't bring myself to jump in to another world just yet. So back to Gardneria I go to read about what happened before The Black Witch.
Wandfasted is the prequel to The Black Witch - a book I couldn't put down. I've decided I'll read it and Light Mage just before I read Iron Flower, so that I'm immersed in that world again. I also thought I'd include my #wand according to Pottermore. #witchyreads
The prequel to Black Witch is only 99 cents right now!
Omg I am such a moron ROFL
I didn't connect this Gareth or Vivianne or Tesla's brother to them in The Black Witch the first time I read it! So many dots connected!
This novella is a prequel to 'The Black Witch' and was an amazing addition to the series. It tells the story of how Ren's parents meet and become wandfasted. It's interesting to see a little more of how magic works and a bit more of the politics of the world. If you've read 'The Black Witch' you should definitely spend the 3$ to buy this ebook. It's worth it.
💜💙 The storytelling here is, once again, excellent! The characters are well developed (I adore Fain!) and the plot provides much appreciated context for the Black Witch while also being good enough to stand on it‘s own. With Laurie Forest‘s amazing writing talent it‘s only gonna get better from here and I am so excited to see where this series goes! Two super enthusiastic thumbs up!! 💙💜
Holy crap! How is Forest a newbie author?!
This book starts out with a bang...like dragons fighting a witch trying to stop a genocide type bang!
While the characters and plots are not unique (there's some good fluff romance), Forest does an amazing job of showing how we tend to repeat history by using hate to guide our actions. They also bring up so many modern issues: homophobia, access to healthcare, sexism, gender roles and racism.
READ IT!
Ready to rumble!....
Actually gonna be MIA to try and read it in one sitting but we shall see
Ah! It's delivered! So excited! Gotta make some time to read it ASAP!
Literally can't put into words how excited I am for this!! 😄😁 Black Witch is absolutely one of the best books I have ever read so I have been dying for Wandfasted! Not sure how I'll make it til book two is available lol. 💖💖💖
