I really enjoyed this book, not my usual cup of tea but I found myself really invested in finding out what happened to the characters. Covers some serious issues such as domestic violence. Ultimately the story of two great love stories a generation apart.
This book was a definite page turner. Had me hopeful till the very end. An altogether good read.
The Letter is a story of two women and men they chose to love, separated by three decades, connected by the power of written words. If you were a Nicholas Spark lover, you might love The Letter. Read full review at https://elgeewrites.com/the-letter-book-review/
I had high hopes for this novel since the reviews were mostly 4-5 stars on Goodreads. However, I was greatly disappointed in the low level of writing displayed consistently throughout. The characters are memorable, and Hughes touches on some important issues such as marital rape and domestic violence. This novel contains adult issues but could be labeled middle school reading level. This would be a great novel choice for adult language learners.
My book club‘s November choice. Starting it today while waiting for the train.
THE LETTER is a touching tale of love, loss, survival and joy. The book was immediately engaging. KATHRYN HUGHES has created a page-turning story that will keep you entertained. Check out the 4⭐️ review. https://lharvey250.tumblr.com/post/162479503704/the-letter-kathryn-hughes-my-rat...
Has anyone read this? Never heard of it til today, but it sounds interesting and I figured I'd grab it while it was on sale. I love books with letters/diaries. #sale #kindle
