This book is not what I was expecting, and I mean that in the best way possible. It‘s told by war bride Lila, starting when she meets Perry and elopes in 1943, through their long separation during the war and the very realistic ending, all with a wartime scrapbook in the background. I absolutely loved this and highly recommend it to anyone interested in WWII fiction. 5⭐️

I finished my 2018 #goodreadschallenge of 78 books today when I finished the tagged book, which, by the way, I really enjoyed.

I really enjoyed the format of this book. It's layed out as a scrapbook of a woman during World War II and has newspaper clippings and old drawings from that era. It's really neat!

This was delightful! An interesting format, for sure - a sort of scrapbook-style graphic novel. 13/100 for the year. #24in48

Interesting concept - a novel in scrapbook form - but I lost interest in the story within a couple of pages and ended up just looking at the pictures. I typically don't like epistolary or diary form novels so I don't know why I thought I would like this - I think I was drawn to the fun retro pictures.

This novel told through postcards and photos is such a fantastic idea. I can't wait for the finished book to come out.

Fascinating fiction and history, told in a visually beautiful way.

So excited to start this one (it comes out in December!)
