Ever since she was little she has seen a strange glyph… one not taught by her elders. What could it mean?

This one is a bit odd the green cover is book 1 original. The pink cover is book 2 US ARC edition and I think international editions. I believe US print edition for book 2 and three where the yellow cover style.

I just could not get into this one! The characters really fell flat for me and I just kept losing interest. So disappointed because I was excited to read this one.

So far I'm enjoying this upper middle-grade fantasy that feels a bit like Sabriel and a bit like 1930s Harry Potter. The #audiobook is also well narrated (not always a given). For some reason I keep picturing the characters and settings in my mind in the styles of Studio Ghibli. Anyone else get the same vibes?

While I enjoyed the world, and its creatures, the characters in this one felt really stilted and underdeveloped. The relationships between the young women were cliched and one-dimensional. Maybe a good chapter book for young readers as it was relatively harmless.
