Leo Graf was just your average highly efficient engineer: min your own business, fix what's wrong and move on to the next job. Everything neat and according to spec, just the way he liked it. But all that changed on his assignment to the Cay Habitat. Could you just stand there and allow the exploitation of hundreds of helpless children merely to enhance the bottom line of a heartless mega-corporation? Leo Graf adopted a thousand quaddies -- now all he had to do was teach them to be free.

This was awesome, and proof that a book can have important themes and be an entertaining page-turner at the same time.

My current audiobook read is proving to have been a great choice. 😊

They've been on my TBR forever, so I decided it was finally time to start reading the Vorkosigan Saga. Hoopla has the entire series (I think) on audio. A great way to kick off the new year!

2017 #108 SciFi Audio this was written in the early to mid 80s and it shows. The gender dynamic is dated but the story was decent. I don't know if I love it enough to read more. The others seem to have better ratings but meh. Decent story just not awe inspiring.

Finally got around to doing my wrap-up post for February!

When I started this book, I was disappointed to remember that it was not a Miles book. That disappointment lasted, oh, about five pages. As always, Bujold delivers an exciting, rollicking, laugh-out-loud-cry-out-loud space adventure.

Road trip time! Lucky me, my husband drives, so I get to read. 😁

LauraBeth That's always the best 😀 8y
hollytucker Lucky you, unlucky me. I get car sick!! 8y
Clare-Dragonfly @hollytucker Oh, that's the worst! I'm usually okay as long as it's paper or e-ink, but screens make me carsick sometimes. 8y

I've been reading the Vorkosigan books bit by little bit so I don't run out of them yet. Slotting Falling Free in here between A Civil Campaign and Diplomatic Immunity. I love them all so much.

Chessa Welcome to Litsy! 📚❤️ 8y
Chessa Also: Where do you recommend starting in the Vorkosigan books? I've loved other Bujold books and just get so overwhelmed with how many are in that series that I throw up my hands and say I'll figure it out next time. ;) 8y
writek @Chessa Warrior's Apprentice would be my recommended place to start. It's the first Miles book. 8y

Lauredhel @Chessa I started with Shards of Honour/ Barrayar, the Cordelia books, and loved them. There are two main schools of thought on the rest of the reading order, and I'm not sure it matters much which one you choose. 8y
Lauredhel Thanks for the welcome! 8y
Chessa @writek @Lauredhel Thanks you guys! I'll look for both of those and see which one pops up first! :) 8y
Leniverse @Chessa I recommend starting with the two Cordelia books. You can find them both under the title "Cordelia's Honor". That way you get introduced into the world and why Miles is who and what he is. Plus, Cordelia is just awesome. In the 2nd book she's as badass as Sigourney Weaver. 8y

I finished my reread of Falling Free yesterday by audio. I originally read this paperback in 2012 and really enjoyed it. I remembered the basics, but the details had to be refreshed. It was really good upon reread and I am so excited I get to listen to more in the series thanks to an Audible sale!

Most of my rereading is done by audio. I am currently listening to this book right now that I read a couple years ago. There was a good audio sale so I have a few books in this series now. Hoping to reread the ones I have read before and finally move on in the series... #booktober

Definitely got soggy a bit in the middle, but really picked up for the end. This was my introduction to this world, and I'm looking forward to living here for a while.

After taking forever with this series, I decided to do the audios instead thanks to an Audible sale. I don't have them all, but hopefully enough to get me further than reading this series has! #tbrtuesday
