I really liked this book because it was just crazy. Nothing ever went the way I thought it would. It just felt like a crazy B-horror that was just absolutely fun from start to finish. 4/5

Horror!
Creepy cover buy!
I love alien horror & this author writes horror well. Creative & fun!!
Body snatching aliens & teenage nerds are on to them. Who will win.
The carving off of the dying human remains … so gross. Loved it!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
Overall, gruesome and entertaining with plenty of old school 80s horror homages. Generally, the characters are nothing special, but likeable for the most part.
Took me about halfway through this book to become totally engrossed, but I reached that “click” moment. I am definitely into it now. Although I‘m thinking I should have waited for Halloween to read this one 😋😱🎃 #kindle
I‘m going to start by saying that I really loved this book. The plot was a piece of well crafted simplicity that didn‘t try to do too much, and because of that it was a lot of fun to read. The characters were fun and being a horror nerd myself, easy to relate to. While the book and the characters did fall into tropes much of the time, but when it comes to a 80‘s nostalgia (this book is set in the 80‘s) I feel that works for it.

The 80s‘ were the golden age for horror movies and this book is that love letter you have wanted.
#FierceFeb #FreeYourMind Video Night starts of with a bang, no really, 2 kids are having sex in a van when the boyfriend has an alien bust out of his esophagus and jaw. The alien then chases the girlfriend down and injects itself into her. Later when the girl wakes up she realizes she has no control of her body, but can only watch from deep down within herself as the new alien form uses her memories to make its way in our world.
What this book does not do, is emotionally manipulate me. What it does do, is create a vivid movie reel of this alien invasion of Staten Island in the 80‘s around 3 kids. Billy and Tommy, the nerd and the tough guy best friends, and Rachel, Billy‘s crush. What it lacks in the human condition side of fiction, it makes up for in disgusting alien sex and samurai sword alien deaths. It was a respectable gory valentine to 80‘s horror. It‘s a pick.
Nothing gets me in the Halloween mood more than reading some gory horror novels.
