It was a big reading month for me. That was partially due to my free Audible month, which prompted me to get through as many books as I could!

Lizzy is an NYC chef leading a busy lonely life running a restaurant. She goes home to Seattle where her sister is undergoing chemotherapy. Their relationship has been strained since their mom's death, but despite their different lives they reconnect. I identified so much with the plot & at times it was hard to read about them losing their mom as teens. There's a romance, but the book‘s heart is the sisters' relationship & dealing with cancer.

This story is about 2 sisters named after Austen heroines. The sisters are about 10 years apart in age and have had a difficult relationship. I have sisters that I love so much that this story was hard to read in places. However, it is a good character driven story with tears, laughter and love. Reccomend.

This was a great book. I fell in love with Katherine Reay‘s books after reading this one. She‘s great at combining Austen‘s works with her own twists and characters.

Recent #BookMail: a few novella collections, a couple ARCs, a couple new-ish releases, a book I really enjoyed, and way more books than I actually need. 🤦🏼‍♀️

This was a quick read filled with love. I went in thinking it was a retelling but it really wasn't. Another Reay I enjoyed!

🌟🌟🌟🌟

Melissa_J Have you read any of Reay‘s other books? I really liked Dear Mr. Knightly, and am currently reading 6y

I may have started my second Austen, still P&P, retelling for the month of Feb. 🙃Hoping I enjoy this one from Reay as much as I enjoyed her other one, Dear Mr. Knightley.

I was hesitant to read this as I do not typically like Austen adaptations ( why mess with perfection?), but this book was not a retelling. This book was about the powerful emotions and memories favorite foods and books can illicit. And the comfort that can be found when returning to those foods and books. I really loved this!

Morr_Books I got that same mug for Christmas ❤️ 6y

I did not expect to like this one as much as I did, much less to give it 5 stars. It's a depressing subject, plus complicated family relationships and grief - not my thing, at all. Yet, I loved it. I was so moved by this story. It's left me grateful and tender. Give it a try, you won't regret it.

I like the story itself & all the food references were fun to read about. But something about transitioning from storyline to storyline didn't feel smooth. It was a nice easy read.

Really enjoyed this book! I loved the way Lizzy connected people to food based upon their literary preferences.
