Dollar Tree FTW! And this is the second one in the series! 🙌🏼
After endless chips and salsa, the BF and I went downtown to walk off our dinner and perused the local used record shop, Love Garden, and used bookshop, The Dusty Bookshelf. I found a couple books from my wishlist as well as an autographed book of poetry. Plus, we got to spend time with Dinah, the bookshop‘s resident cat. The shop employee said that, yes, she is THAT Dinah. ❤️😻
3/100 The Awakening of Sunshine Girl by Paige McKenzie
I read Book 1 in this series in June of last year and, as always, it took me absolutely forever to move onto the next book. But it's safe to say that I am still 100% into it. I also think that it's a pretty good sign when you finish the entire book in around 6 hours.
I cannot wait to get my hands on Book 3, and I'll hopefully read it later on this year.
I'm hoping for some deliciously creepy scenes in this book! The first book was pretty creepy and, as it's Halloween time, I could use a little more creepy!
Currently reading the Awakening of Sunshine Girl. I thought Haunting was pretty good but so far I'm disappointed in this book. :/ Hoping it gets better! I'm only on page 60...
I decided to bake some chocolate chip cookies while I continue listening to The Awakening of Sunshine Girl. I'm enjoying it so far. It's not as creepy as the first book, but at least it still has some ghosts in it 👻. I have about 7 hours of reading under my belt so far for the #24in48 readathon!
So the plan was to hunker down in my condo and not leave unless it was an emergency. However, I received an email this morning from a bookstore where I often shop saying they're going out of business sale starts today. So I'm sadly walking around and building a stack of books to buy. Super sad to see them go. Then I'm heading to B&N for their customer appreciation day. I'm listening to the 2nd Sunshine Girl book as I drive around.
She was doing nothing but rambling on and on, as if solely to fill up space in the book. Describing every single particle of every single thing! I decided it was better to DNF at 98 pages than to pull my hair out to finish it.
I grabbed this book on a whim and didn't realize it was part of a trilogy. This is the second book and I never read the first. It had a good storyline and was an easy read. It's not one I couldn't put down but it was a good read :)
Most dads just want their kids to get good grades, go to college, that kind of thing. My mentor/father thinks I can change the world.
