Nothing beats reading a spooky book during a thunderstorm! 😱😨⛈ Though, to be fair...this book isn't as spooky as I remember! 😂

WJCintron Where did you find it? Or is this an old copy? I've been trying to get that series for a long time. He's one of my favorite authors from when I was a teen!! That one, the cheerleaders, the betrayal, the Broken hearts and the one at the beach, I forgot the name. Some are out of print!! 😭 If you know where I can get them, please let me know!! 🙏 3y
Branwen @WJCintron He was totally my favorite author when I was in middle school too! I was obsessed with the Fear Street books and Goosebumps! 😁 Sadly, I wasn't able to find this particular series in any stores and had to interlibrary loan them from a different library. Maybe a library near you has them and you could do that too? I did luck out and found a bunch of Goosebumps books in the donation bin at work a few weeks ago! 3y

Part two of last night's double feature: The Babysitter Killer Queen.
This one is the sequel to The Babysitter, set two years later. It wasn't as fun as the first one (a little too similar perhaps) but still a solidly funny & gory film once you get past the opening.
Shocktober film # 11

Pickpick

Two fun, quick, and suspenseful reads from RL Stine! Somehow I missed these growing up even though I was totally obsessed with Goosebumps!
+30 points for team subject reads (thriller)
+1 point for participation

“Are you into Aerosmith?”, she asked, making a face as she stared at his red-and-black T-shirt.................................”You hate heavy metal, huh?”. “Well..I used to like Def Leppard a little.”

Were those bands really considered heavy metal? 🤔

Finished the final book out of my RL Stine stack. I definitely read all of these as a kid, but I only remembered bits and pieces. There are problems with the books of course- the female characters are constantly apologizing for things they do or say, and I don't think any of the books passed the Bechdel test. But if you go into them knowing that that's the case, they are very entertaining. It was a fun October experience!

Reading while I wait for trick or treaters 🎃🎃

Chelsibeau Me too! Only have had 2 so far 😞 6y
SkeletonKey None yet for me. Waiting, waiting. 6y

callielafleur @SkeletonKey @Chelsibeau we're up to 3 for the night. Do kids not trick or treat anymore? 6y
SkeletonKey Okay, I've had 2 now. I think there are so many "SAFE ALTERNATIVE COMMUNITY EVENTS" here that even in a neighborhood like mine with lots of doorbells to ring the parents discourage it ??? Sad 6y
Chelsibeau I had 4 now....I‘m from NH not far from Salem. MA and we take trick or treating very seriously there. I‘m in the DC suburbs now and it‘s very sad. Maybe parents aren‘t allowing there kids to trick or treat anymore? 😞 6y
SkeletonKey @Chelsibeau - I'm in NoVa, about 30 miles out of DC. It wasn't always like this 😓 6y
callielafleur @Chelsibeau We had a big storm over the weekend with lots of power outages, trees down, stuff like that. I wonder if people didn't want to risk it. 6y

It's the start of a new school year, and since I moved classrooms I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to clean out my classroom library. Here are a few R.L. Stine books I tried to bring back into popularity! I loved Fear Street when I was younger! Going to bring home my hundreds of books and try to garage sale them. Sad day. Thanks to @JaimitaPR for the help and the photo cred!
