I devoured this! Fantasy and fairy tales are not my thing, but this is a seriously compelling hero‘s journey. I really enjoyed this one even though it was outside my normal reading areas. #lmpbc

@Reynosa8701 @Marmie7 I‘m running a bit behind on my book club pick but I promise I will get it in the mail as soon as I can to you Reyna! We should be okay to still finish on time since we are down a fourth member and have extra time to send our books around. Hope all is well with you two! #lmpbc
It‘s just the three of us 🎶
What do you two think of these options for #lmpbc? Which one are you more interested in?
Famous people interact on a secluded lake in Vermont. Katherine, a former supermodel, goes missing. Did her husband Tom kill her? Our main character Casey is on the search for the answer. This is a good thriller but is slower than some of Sager‘s other books. Still a solid four star read!
What a fun #BOTMbacklog romance! I particularly enjoyed Alex, who turned out to be the most well written autistic character in the world. He just was, without attention drawn to it or over-exaggeration. I really enjoyed this sweet summer read.
I‘m back from a social media break. I let social media consume my life and I took a step back. Now I can healthily return to one of my favorite apps! Photo is the roses I got my husband for Father‘s Day 💙
This novel was STUNNING. This book made me feel seen as someone with OCD, autism, depression, and gender identity issues. I feel compassion and sisterhood with Ada. Reading this felt like a transformative experience and a spiritual one as well. Easily five stars.

I am dealing with some serious health issues very suddenly, so I am a bit behind in my consumption of the #lmpbc picks. I promise I‘m getting a move on @Hazel2019 @magyklyXdelish @shadowspeak17 #groupS
Compulsively readable, but sadly predictable. This is a good quick thriller, but nothing more.
I finished my #lmpbc #groupS pick! I don‘t want to spoil anything with my review, so I‘ll just say gory times are ahead. I‘ll have this on its way to you this afternoon @Hazel2019
A slow burn tale of modern running parallel to tradition. A truly heartbreaking rendition of poverty, pain, and country life. While I can‘t give this five stars as it wasn‘t compelling to keep picking up, it does get four stars from me for its importance in portraying characters like the ones I grew up around. Survival is key, and Julius and Jeanie show you how.
What a ride. A saucy mystery/contemporary fiction romp into starlets and secrets. This was seriously good.
So excited to get to jump back into #lmpbc as I had a very busy last year and haven‘t been involved since maybe round 5? This is one of my favorite things to do and I love the keepsake I‘m left with when my book returns home 🏡

Thanks for always hosting this amazing event @suvata
I can‘t believe how high up on the library holds list I was for this one 🎉
Stayed up into the wee hours finishing this one. I read it cover to cover. Compelling, funny, smart, and meaningful. Jillian decides to infiltrate a secret socialite club: madness ensues. Pick this one up, seriously.
This novel is one of the deepest human emotions, but sadly, I felt that Sweeney never got there completely. It seemed that the characters were not unique enough, not memorable enough. For the first half of the novel, I couldn‘t keep who was who straight. Not a good sign. This book was fine, but will fade into the background.
So minimalistic in its emotion, this novel is one that lives inside your bones. Parenthood, marriage, careers - all at a distance, living in the liminal space of uncertainty. This novel takes only a few hours to read, but go slowly and take your time to devour its true potential.
My #1 fear is the acceleration of days. No such thing supposedly, but I swear I can feel it.
A weird adventurey graphically told tale that was the most pleasurable read I‘ve had in a while. Only takes a few minutes to read and will stay with you for quite some time. The illustrations are spectacular and I loved the absurdity of the creatures and situations. What a pick me up. #catsoflitsy #graphicnovel
Sultry, dark, enticing vampire story. Does not function on typical tropes and explores a self-drinking vamp in an affair with a businessman in Shanghai.
Getting some much needed down time
I have been so absent from Litsy through a ton of life changes. Moving, job promotion, relationship developments. I am happy to be back after a tumultuous couple of months. Everything is looking up and these have been two books I‘ve read in the last few weeks that I would give more than five stars if I could.

A seriously great piece of objective reporting with factual information. Cullen is truly a master of his genre and this book is so important. It couldn‘t be done any better. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A very fun murder mystery that will keep your attention. Not much happens throughout the 300ish pages, but I was invested nonetheless. I always feel an author has a gift when I keep devouring a novel when not much goes on. Really recommend this one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A horrifying work of magical realism that is beautifully bewitching. This pretty long book keeps you racing through it. Seriously enjoyed this one!
Reportage style text that follows 27 murder houses, giving us the details of the murder, killer(s) and victim(s), as well as the selling history of the home. This is a super well researched, facts only text that covers the super famous cases (Lizzie Borden, JonBenet Ramsey) but also more obscure ones. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The only way I can describe this is meh 🤷🏼♀️
Nothing special, but not one star atrocious. Very middle of the road and forgettable.
Never have I read such an amazing dark comedy horror novel. I read it in one sitting. Captivating and laugh out loud funny, easily compared to Ash vs Evil Dead (one of my favorite shows).
The best novel I‘ve read in quite some time. I identified so closely with the main character and this novel pulled on me emotionally more than any novel ever. It felt close to home as a writer.
I‘m convinced that Bryan Lee O‘Malley will never write anything I give less than five stars ✨
A complicated little fever dream that follows McGlue as he‘s arrested for the murder of his best friend in 1851. McGlue is a drunk and can‘t remember the night everyone is so concerned with. A fever dream of a novella, the second half gripped me strongly and wouldn‘t let go. I saw the ending coming, but that makes it no less captivating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Loved loved LOVED this collection of magical realism/creepy/literary stories! Russell‘s words live off the page once you‘ve moved on to the next story or closed the book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Really fast psychological thriller. There was nothing here I didn‘t predict, but the story kept me reading. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I never thought of Bradbury as a scary writer, but this collection really changed my mind. These stories are creepy and unsettling and I loved them! I didn‘t have too much experience with Bradbury before this except for Fahrenheit 451 (which I also loved) and that‘s unfortunate because I‘ll be returning to him for sure! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a gory, graphic, seriously literary piece of Southern Gothic fiction!
I‘ve been writing for a horror site and you can check out my full review that discusses McCarthy and Gay together at https://hauntedmtl.com/horror-in-print/william-gays-twilight-southern-gothic-and...
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hey ladies! I just wanted to let you all know that my life has been very hectic and I still have this book with me. I would love to read it but it may take me a bit. If anyone prefers me to go ahead and send it along, that‘s okay too! I did receive my own book back but I haven‘t read all of them I know. I just wanted to check in with you all! #lmpbc
A really well written - gory at times - page turner that kept me enthralled. I didn‘t guess the ending, but I was left feeling a bit unsatisfied by it. I spent a lot of time with these characters for the reveal and ending to be so rushed. There were so many beautiful instances of Flynn‘s writing and language in this prose. I‘ll definitely be picking up more.
Gritty, vicious, and absolutely stunning. This isn‘t for the lighthearted and definitely has a lot of McCarthy vibes. Pollock has quickly become one of my favorite authors between this novel and his story collection “Knockemstiff.”
As always, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Starting this gritty read. I love Pollock and his darkly outrageous Midwestern tales. #catsoflitsy #revan
This found diary was cut and rearranged by Scanlan to create the most lyrical and poetic little book I‘ve ever read. The melancholy that permeates the short bits of prose is just beautiful. You can read this one in about a half hour and you won‘t be disappointed. This is much more than the words on the page. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I think this novel was really over hyped for me. It was a fun read that kept me flipping pages, but in the end I was disappointed. It was predictable and got repetitive at times flipping between the past and present. This is a nice mindless read, but it wasn‘t spooky or inventive enough for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This legal thriller was unique in premise and compelling throughout the entire thing. I thought about the book a lot and always wanted to be reading it. If life hadn‘t been in the way, I would have finished it in a day probably. Really fun read that keeps you guessing as to what will happen next! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
