Life is good for Nadia and Jack. Their wilderness lodge business is booming, and theyre building a new home together, complete with a couple of dogs. Its as close to normal as life getsespecially for a pair of contract killers. But for Jack, semi-retirement is a dangerous proposition. There are plenty of people who dont want to lose his services. Hes halfway around the world when one of those disgruntled clients comes for Nadia. And he has no way to warn her. Note: this is a novella, not a full-length novel.

vivastory This one, that I enjoyed, came to mind 2y
Cinfhen Funny you should mention that one @vivastory as @squirrelbrain just posted that book for her choice. I liked it as well!! 2y

BarbaraBB I am going to use this one for the prompt, which also fits #ReadingAfrica2022 2y
Cinfhen That‘s a GREAT suggestion @BarbaraBB I read that one for bookclub years ago and I still think about it!!! 2y
Cinfhen I haven‘t read it yet @jenniferw88 hoping to bump it up the ##Tbr 2y
Susanita Interesting mystery set in Mississippi 2y
Singout I think mine is going to be There, There, but the first one I thought of (flashbacks to my university American lit course) was (edited) 2y
Smarkies I am definitely going to be reading Bird by Bird - it's been on my TBR for way too long. 2y
Ruthiella Excellent suggestions! I was considering The Sea, the Sea by Iris Murdoch but the Attica Locke is on my list! 2y
Cinfhen Thanks for offering and posting MORE suggestions @Ruthiella @Smarkies @Singout @Susanita I‘m pleasantly surprised by how many options are out there!!! I‘ve only read the mystery that @Susanita suggested and it was very good 😊 #SoManyBooksSoLitteTime 2y
TrishB Oh I may be changing my mind now as I have some of these too! 2y
Cinfhen I plan on doing both @Riveted_Reader_Melissa NF challenge and #POP22 @TrishB so my choices might change too!! 2y
Centique @Ruthiella I loved The Sea The Sea! If you do read it 💕 2y
TrishB @Centique good to know as I have that and may change to it! 2y
Cinfhen It‘ll be interesting to see how many of us KEEP our initial choices @TrishB @Centique @Ruthiella 😜 2y
Centique @TrishB it appealed to my inner grinch. A famous theatre director retires from the world seeking solitude. I can relate to the seeking solitude! 2y
Cinfhen How‘s #HisElderliness @Centique ?? Are u guys still in lockdown?? 2y
TrishB I have a very big inner grinch! 2y
Centique @Cinfhen yes we‘re in a level 3 stage 1 lockdown now😂😂 that‘s how complicated it is. Hopefully retail opens next week though - but not gyms or hairdressers. I‘m very lucky because we have an office just 5 mins from our house so since restrictions eased we can work from there again - let‘s us spread out a bit. I get to see Dad on Monday for the first time in 12 weeks cos the rest home is letting me take him to his hospital appointment. 2y
Centique @TrishB I love a grinch! 💕💕 2y
Cinfhen OMG! 12 weeks!!!! I literally got goosebumps- I‘m SO happy you finally get to see your dad in person 🥰 @Centique (edited) 2y
Chelsea.Poole I was thinking about this one (extra points for 3x? 😉) 2y
Cinfhen Hahaha @Chelsea.Poole the book you tagged left me shaking my head in disbelief but it‘s a really good read!!! Excellent choice 💜 2y
