I keep reading psychological thrillers, and keep wanting to like them, and for the time I‘m reading them, they‘re entertaining enough, but I when I‘ve finished one, I always have a feeling of dissatisfaction. I can‘t pinpoint exactly why. Is it because the characters are generally so hateful I don‘t care what happens to them?

Anyway, this one doesn‘t buck the trend, I steamed through it, it‘s good for the genre. It‘s not the book, it‘s me.

Tove_Reads I have lately read many excellent ones! But, I know the feeling. Sometimes certain books just don‘t do it for you. 4y

This is a really interesting book and it does get you thinking by the end about how you might deal in her situation. The plot jumps from present to the day of Alice's disappearance then gradually joins it all together. The story is also told by Harriet and Charlotte. The story is good and I liked the ending but would have liked a little more resolution for Charlotte. That being said, the ending does work really well. #Netgalley 4*

Andrew65 @IamIamIam I think it is only sensible to count them if they meet the criteria. Enjoy your challenges and let the totals take care of themselves. I do these weekly totals so I can spot the challenges falling behind and prioritise them. 😊 5y

Andrew65 @Bklover Yes, don‘t do what I did. I downloaded the first two books on the same day and somehow listened to book 2 first. Didn‘t realise till virtually the end of book 2. Just wish my library had more! Only got the first two. 5y

Bklover @Andrew65 Oh, that reminds me of when I started an ebook that was the second in a series and somehow the ebook started at the second to last chapter. So of course I read the last two chapters first, which of course ruined the book! 5y

I loved this book. It had more layers to it than the average onion! The tension and Suspense was kept up well in this book and it was good to see the story from the perspective of the main two characters. Certainly an unexpected twist halfway through the book and this made the book even better. First book I‘ve read by the author but won‘t be the last. If you are in the US this will be published on Tuesday 8th Jan under the title Her One Mistake.

What would you do if you leave your kid with your friend, and she suddenly lost it? How would you react if they told you she was on her phone throughout that time? Your friend has many secrets, but hey – SO DO YOU!

One of the best psychology thrillers I have read! Heidi did a great job with putting the plot together, making the characters connectible and making you bite your nails every single page!

Spine-tingling good! This is a powerful story about a distressing subject, the abduction of a child. Told from 2 points of view this is a mesmerizing tale of a woman pushed to the edge. I read it over 24 hours and literally read until my eyes couldn‘t focus any more. The characters were so real that my heart broke for them. Well done to Heidi Perks on a fantastic novel. Thanks to #NetGalley for the chance to read this book.
