Digging into "The Far Empty" this week. It's been dark, dusty, and determined so far. Here's a picture of the women in my life as they navigate a dark and dusty path along the flood walls of Richmond.

Finished this one last month but forgot to post a review. I think I would have preferred a single POV to the multiple POVs in this one, but overall a pretty good modern western. A little predictable, but I wasn't looking or anything too serious here. Not quite strong enough to be a pick.

An interesting read. But all of the changing perspectives were jarring for me sometimes. There were parts that were very thrilling, though, and really engaging. If you are in the mood for a good modern western, this is for you!

Scott captures the essence of the far empty nature of the Big Bend Country of Texas in this terrific debut novel. It is a little slow to start but if you stick with it you will be rewarded! This book will be released 7 June.
