3.5/5 ⭐️

Second in a series. Nichole is devastated by her husbands affair, and files for divorce. Because she does, her mother-in-law, Leanne, leaves her husband, a serial cheater. But leaving a relationship is complicated, as is allowing yourself to love again.

Just like the 1st book, they meet “unexpected” men and encounter resistance for it. To me, that gets old fast, but I liked the characters and needed something happy.

Loved the relationship between the two main characters. The story was sweet and thoughtful and a real call to know who your girls are...

For some reason I am in the mood for a Debbie Macomber Christmas book, but not one I‘ve already read and I don‘t own them all so I‘m starting this one I‘ve head for two or three years and hoping #netgalley approves me for the new book by her that comes out in October.

I read this a couple weeks ago and so forgot everything about it that I had to search all Macomber‘s books for the title. The characters are flat, 1-dimensional stereotypes. The “moving on” is just going forward to the next dude. Honestly, if there hadn‘t been cell phones I would have thought this was written in 1978. And don‘t get me started about the sassy black friend. Just don‘t.

Reggie Lololol I enjoyed the Baker guy in here but you‘re right about the sassy black friend, if there had been a gay guy in here he would have been a hairdresser and had hiv, and a limp wrist. 7y
MimiLovesToRead I read a couple after this one and finally called it quits. Debbie and I have officially broken up. 7y
Posh_Salad @MimiLovesToRead I think is my 4th DM. I‘m not compelled to read more. @Reggie I agree! And there would‘ve been a makeover scene! 7y

Easy, breezy, book written at a level that almost felt middle school. Even so, there is some magic in here. Leanne leaves her husband, Sean, after 30 years of turning a blind eye to all his cheating, after her daughter in law, Nichole, leaves her son, Jake, finding out he cheated on her. 2 years later the ladies have managed to rebuild their lives and soon meet Nikolai and Rocco. Are they ready for love? Are Jake and Sean ready to let go?

(1/2). Leanne is a new divorcee after 30 yrs of marriage whose no.1 rule is not to wallow in her sadness. Volunteering and doing for others is what she believes is the opposite of depression so she decides to teach English to nonEnglish speakers where she meets Nikolai, the Ukrainian baker.

(2/2) Nikolai and his lack of command of the English language makes him good for a chuckle and endears him as one of my favorite characters in this book.

This book was a feel good story about moving on with life after divorce. This was definitely not a bad book at all, it just wasn't for me. #litsyatoz #letterg
