WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS STAYS IN VEGAS. BUT WHAT DIDNT HAPPEN IN VEGAS SEEMS TO FOLLOW THEM EVERYWHEREBook Three in the sexy, fun New York Times bestselling Wild Seasons series that began with Sweet Filthy Boy (the Romantic Times Book of the Year) and Dirty Rowdy Thing.Lola and Oliver like to congratulate themselves on having the good sense not to consummate their drunken Las Vegas marriage. If theyd doubled-down on that mistake, their Just Friends situation might not be half as great as it is now. Or so goes the official line. In reality, Lolas wanted Oliver since day oneand over time has only fallen harder for his sexy Aussie accent and easygoing ability to take her as she comes. More at home in her studio than in baring herself to people, Lolas instinctive comfort around Oliver nearly seems too good to be true. So why ruin a good thing? Even as geek girls fawn over him, Oliver cant get his mind off what he didnt do with Lola when he had the chance. He knows what he wants with her nowand its far outside the friend zone. When Lolas graphic novel starts getting national acclaimand is then fast-tracked for a major motion pictureOliver steps up to be there for her whenever she needs him. After all, shes not the kind of girl who likes all that attention, but maybe shes the kind wholl eventually like him. Sometimes seeing whats right in front of us takes a great leap of faith. And sometimes a dark wild night in Vegas isnt just the end of a day, but the beginning of a bright new life

Lola and Oliver are two geeks who drunkenly got married in Vegas the night they met (along with their friends) and immediately regretted it. Now that they actually know each other they're friends, but they want to be more.

Vansa This quote from the book just gave me the chills- 4y
Vansa " a raucous debate over how the world is going to end. As usual, we have Joe to thank for it, .“I‘m telling you, it‘s going to be the fucking livestock,” Joe tells us, barely missing Harlow‘s wineglass when he sweeps his hand in a total-destruction gesture. “Some sort of cow or swine flu. Maybe some bird thing.“No, not rabies,” he says, shaking his head. “Something we don‘t even know yet.”

4y
Michollio @Vansa I haven't read it in a while, so I totally forgot about that. At least the rest of the book isn't depressing or scary? 4y
Vansa @Michollio haha, no, not at all, I didn't mean it that way. Just wanted to point out that romance writers don't get enough credit for being great writers 😁 4y

I am still very hit or miss with contemporary romance. I generally like Christina Lauren books (and I'm hoping to get around to my eARC of The Unhoneymooners this weekend), but this book was just ok.
I definitely liked it better than book two in the series, Dirty Rowdy Thing, but the conflict between Lola and Oliver didn't engage me. I think book one, Sweet Filthy Boy, is my favourite of this series.

It's finally Lola and Oliver's turn. Both are worried about ruining their friendship and are not sure how the other feels. But they definitely belong together, if only Lola doesn't mess it up while struggling with an overabundance of work that has become particularly stressful.

Done! After months and months of the spine of this sucker staring at me, I finally finished! I really liked the story of Lola and Oliver, and while I kept yelling "just have a damn conversation already!", their relationship felt pretty authentic. (Also, I saw that I do what Lola does, and it took my brain back for a few minutes to process that information. Yikes, and not in a good way.) A fun book, and easy to read. #litsypartyofone 1st book done!

The headache is finally gone! It took most of yesterday and overnight for it to leave, and I'm so grateful it's gone! So far today for this awesome #litsypartyofone weekend, I'm reading this book, the third in a series that I can't seem to stop reading. Along with my Year-long alpha challenge, I'm giving myself permission to go out of order and read whatever I already own. This one has been on my "read soon" pile since 2015! ?

Ashley_Nicoletto I ❤️ Christina Lauren! 7y

LauraBrook @Ashley_Nicoletto Yes! Their books are lots of steamy fun. Plus, fairly realistic and modern characters! 👍🏼 @MaryAnn1 YES!!!! So frustrating, on top of the pain and everything else. 7y
Sace Yay! I'm glad you're feeling better. 😊 7y

According to the radar, the majority of the hurricane has passed up, but we're still getting lots of wind & rain. Hopefully it dies down soon so the power can be restored and we can have some a/c again. It's time to read in the dark now. I hope everyone is staying safe out there! 🤘🏼

Arcana Fingers crossed you get power again soon! 7y

Love this series, though in my opinion this book is probably the weakest in the series. Not that it's bad, I just prefer the others. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ of 5
