I haven‘t read little kids books since I was a little kid. Now that I am the library director I am trying to read some picture books that come in so I can do RA if needed. This one was super cute!

It's a little after 9pm on the west coast so time to get started on #24in48 ! This will be the first readathon in which I've incorporated some digital and audio books. First off a

I am having a blast reading picture books tonight!

This one is from the duo that created Last Stop on Market Street, which I LOVED. Mom is a housekeeper and dad seems to be a day laborer; one of Carmela‘s wishes is for him to get his papers and come home. 😢

More new children's books! I love reading new children's books. Some are great and others are dumb.

"Caldecott Honoree and Illustrator Christian Robinson stopped by one of our local schools, presented his work, and signed some books for the kids. Awesome guy. Awesome talent."

The thing I liked best in this one was the genuine sibling relationship. The brother is annoyed, little sister glares, but ultimately, they love each other. Story is much weaker here than Last Stop, but still enjoyable, and Robinson‘s art is spectacular as always.
