Until February this year, I had never read a Jilly Cooper book. Is this one of the best books written? No. Is it “politically correct” in today‘s world? No. Is it nevertheless still tremendous fun? Absolutely!

Not my usual sort of book, but a book club friend said Cooper‘s books were her “guilty pleasure”, so I thought I‘d give it a go.
Written in the 80s and set in the 70s, it‘s very much of its time, but I did end up caring about some and absolutely hating others, which shows I connected with them in some way. So while being far from the best book I‘ve ever read, it‘s far from the worst, too.
We had a surprise special guest at the #CheltenhamLiteratureFestival 70th Anniversary Lunch! Jilly Cooper CBE
Ooh la la! I found two authors who share the same initials with me. 😚 Have not read their books, though. 🙈

This was suggested to me by a colleague who lived in the #UK I finally broke down last year and bought the ebook. So I now have to ask... Why oh why is it so hard to get Jilly Cooper‘s books in the US with out spending a fortune? I have only found Appassionata in print so far. #bookishproblems

#day21 #maybookflowers I feel like these books fall squarely in the #sobaditsgood category! And the TV show was campy, dreadful fun too... described with fabulous alliteration as the 'Racy Rutshire' chronicles! 😂😂😂
So I was in the mood for a quick naughty read and this has been on my TBR forever. Turns out my library finally got it on Overdrive! I run home to put it on my Kindle and find out its 900 pages!!! Can anyone confirm if this type of commitment is worth it? 😜😁😀
