This was harder than I thought! I tried to really pick authors that kickstarted my tastes. I am sure I could have listed more than 5.

Larry McMurtry
Michael Crichton
Sue Grafton
Steven King
Susan Isaacs for one book, Shining Through

CarolynM I like Shining Through too, but my favourite Susan Isaacs is 6y
britt_brooke Nice list! 6y

Bookzombie @CarolynM Shining Through is the only one of hers I have read. I read it a young age, probably before I should have. I might have to check out more of hers. 🙂 6y
lynneamch Aww. Sue Grafton. Those were my first audio walking books many years ago. Such a touching tribute when her family said, "For us, the alphabet stops at Y." ? 6y
CarolynM I have read 5 of them and they are all very different. 6y
Reggie Omg the Susan Isaacs throwback. I know I‘ve read like 3 of her novels but the one I remember is Almost Paradise. Because of what happens on the 2nd to last page after I think 800 pages. 6y
Bookzombie @Reggie I went to look that one up and saw your post on it from 2 years ago, lol. I‘m still curious even though I read your spoiler. 🙂 6y
Bookzombie @lynneamch I love Sue Grafton. They were some of my first audiobooks too. I feel a sort of kinship with Kinsey. I thought what her family said was touching too. 6y

BkClubCare What a GREAT question! I am going to ask this of all my new #LetterMo penpals! I‘ll have to think a bit to answer. Ian McEwan jumped into my head but it‘s been years since I have read him 😂. Ann Patchett might be in my answer... 6y
megnews Mitch Albom, Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, Kaye Gibbons, Lee Smith 6y

vivastory Did you hear that the Salinger estate is going to be publishing a bunch of books soon? 6y
britt_brooke @vivastory I did, and I‘m not sure how I feel about it honestly. I find it hard to believe that this is something he wanted (but what do I know?) What are your feelings on it? 6y
vivastory I don't think he wanted it at all & while the idea of more work is really appealing, it kind of diminishes his image. 6y
britt_brooke @vivastory I completely agree. 6y
