As we get ever closer to the end of the school year, more & more books, although never ALL the books, are being returned. The shelves are bursting—including the graphic novels/comics section which is one of our fastest growing & most in demand. Ten years ago graphic novels filled half a shelf. Today we have five full shelves. Some kids want only chapter books, some picture books & some comics—we just want them to ❤️ reading whatever the format.

Tamra My kids adore graphic novels, which I‘m happy about. However I struggle to get them to balance with chapter books. 😬 5y

TracyReadsBooks @Tamra Balancing is sooo hard. We usually tell kids one graphic novel/one chapter book otherwise some we‘d never have any graphic novels on our shelves! 😂 Really great graphic novels prove we‘re never to old to enjoy a good picture book! 5y

Proud Mamma moment yesterday:
Me: how was school today?
Xavier (7yrs): boring...OH but there was one awesome bit, we went to the Juniors library and it‘s was MASSIVE! There were over a billion books there, it was awesome!
Me: 😍 That‘s my boy!

I think this is a nod to Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy, although the target audience for this series is far too young to get it. I got a kick out of it, though. ☺️ #dontpanic

My husband had to take care of both his girls today - I had to get stronger pain meds for my surgery recovery because I couldn‘t get comfortable, & Twinkle had to get a stronger course of antibiotics because her UTI wasn‘t getting better. I made all appropriate phone calls, and my husband did all the running around- which was a lot. We are now both medicated and tucked in on the couch, and I‘m doing some further Jedi Academy reading. #dogsoflitsy

PenguinInFlight @QuietlyLaura @Eggs @TrishB @rohit-sawant @Simona Thank you! ❤️❤️After two doses of her new med, Twinkle already seems to be feeling better, so I‘m keeping my fingers crossed! I had a hysterectomy on Friday, so I‘m on the mend, too, it‘s just going to take a bit. These meds helped a lot, and I‘m in much less pain.☺️ I‘m out of work for a month, so at least I‘ll have a lot of time to read! 😉 My husband is taking excellent care of us both. 🤗❤️ 6y

PenguinInFlight @Smrloomis @TrishB @Eggs Thank you! 💕Twinkle is much, much better - still on her antibiotic but 100% improved - I am healing slowly but surely. ☺️ I was way more worried about her than I was about me. I was nearly frantic because she was so sick and we couldn‘t take her in because I wasn‘t supposed to be alone that soon after surgery. My mom ended up coming over (and basically watched me sleep) so my husband could get all the meds. 6y

PenguinInFlight @Eggs My Mom very happily came over, but it felt ridiculous to be a couple months short of 35 and need a babysitter. 🤦🏻‍♀️I kept telling my husband I would be fine alone for a couple hours, and he told me I had to listen to the doctor, though he was impressed I had become a rebel and rule-breaker all of a sudden. 😂 6y
