Movie watched during first week of October-Crimson Peak. Maybe no too scary but I liked it, the atmosphere, the era, the presence of ghosts in the house and the character is strong to fight back. Trigger: incest.

Our Shocktober 2nd movie night selection is Crimson Peak. I'm loving the books colors in the film & Tom Hiddleson is always adorable.

I just started this book, but I'm curious to see what it's about. I haven't seen the film yet, so here goes nothing! #crimsonpeak #tomhiddleston #movienovelization #2019readingchallenge

As someone who fell in love with the movie, I was enthralled by this novel. Reading it gave me a whole new perspective on both he characters as well as the movie as a whole.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
.
I want to start by saying that while I love the book and movie, I‘m not the biggest fan of the “secret” GOT-esque relationship. That‘s my only fault in it.
.
I loved how we really got to explore the characters psyches - the really in depth, dark intentions that the movie didn‘t get a chance to analyse or reflect. From Lucille‘s psychotic intent, to Alan‘s deep, unrequited, unmatched love - facets to characters I didn‘t know existed.

Watching Crimson Peak. Hadn't seen it in theatres. It's ok. I would have preferred it as a book. It would have made a better book. Oh, well.

pilardib I agree!! 7y
tournevis @pilardib Right? Even Hiddleson's butt can't make up for the flaws. 7y

For a week I was completely obsessed with this audiobook. It is perfect for this time of year. I don‘t like horror and I would classify this as a gothic thriller. The story is a little predictable but it is intense and exciting. 4⭐️

I haven't quite finished this yet but I can already tell I fucking love it so much. I adored the movie and now the novel has taken my heart with it. Definitely gonna buy myself a copy when I return my library ebook. Now is just the agonizing wait for my kindle to charge so I can read again.

When I received this book as a birthday gift (I loved the movie) I was really hoping for a more in depth look at the characters and perhaps a little fleshing out of the story, what I got was a novel that was roughly exactly the same as the movie with no extra details and although it was a quick and cute read it wasn't exactly what I wanted. I still love the story but wish it was more in depth. Overall I give it a 6/10 #moviewasbetter

Shay_Cray Check out "The Art of Darkness" it is a movie companion and has everything on all of the characters! 6y

How I started my Halloween evening... and then got too creeped out to watch anything else scary I'd planned! This was a good gothic movie, maybe a bit too bloody (or "red-clay-y").

Happy Halloween, Littens! ?
