I had 2 of those carts piled with my TBR book stacks and I started thinking this bookcase I‘d pulled out of my son‘s room might be a better idea. I feel better emotionally with a lot of physical books in my TBR pile 🤷🏻‍♀️ So I painted this bookshelf to match my walls ( kind of a cheater built in ) I‘m still working on a system but I do love glancing over at it while I read and when I go to sleep

marleed I agree! An ever-growing TBR is a beautiful problem to have. And fun task to solve. 4y
mcctrish @marleed and if I read fast, it evolves and changes faster 🎉 everything I‘m reading right now is from the library though 🤦🏻‍♀️ 4y
marleed Haha- I have that same good library ‘problem‘. I own all these shiny objects - canned on my own shelves waiting to keep me alive in a storm. Meanwhile, that brand new library book allows me to devour shiny objects I don‘t even own, while I keep storing up more! 4y

mcctrish @marleed 💪🏻 ( I did put a dent in things with Covid in the beginning BUT now I know things so I really need to stockpile ) 🤣 4y
Megabooks Cute!! 4y
BiblioLitten I can see a lot of good titles in there. Ones that have been on my TBR since forever! 😅 4y
mcctrish @BiblioLitten I have a very bad habit of saving books I know will be good because I can only read them once for the first time 4y

The story is told in two timelines, 1950 and 2014. The latter is told by Fiona, a journalist trying to get to the bottom of her sisters murder and the role a girls boarding school had in it. The 1950 storyline is based at the school and centres around the lives of four friends coming to terms with their misplaced roles in society.
Running through both stories is a ghostly presence tying them together.

This was just, SO good. I loved Sun Down Motel, but this is my favorite of hers so far. Just everything sewn up into a quilt of intrigue, devoted friendship, love, loss, and a hell of a ghost story. 👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻 Oh and this was my #bookspin pick (no way I‘m getting a bingo lol)
@TheAromaofBooks

DebinHawaii Oh good! I bought this one while reading The Sun Down Motel but haven‘t started it yet. Glad to hear you loved it! 🤗 4y
CBee @DebinHawaii it‘s fantastic! I hope you enjoy it 😁 4y
TheAromaofBooks Great work!! (Also, I don't think I'm getting a bingo on my own challenge sooooo 😂) 4y
CBee @TheAromaofBooks thanks! I figure if I‘ve only managed to read the #bookspin, bingo isn‘t happening 😂 Reading is just so slow for me recently 🤷‍♀️ 4y

Mehso-so

Just posted a new review. I was hoping to love this since I loved The Sun Down Motel. I ended up only giving it three stars. I was disappointed that the ghost story and murder mystery didn‘t connect. If you want to know my full thoughts: https://readinginthewildwood.com/2020/05/20/the-broken-girls-by-simone-st-james-...

perfectsinner I loved this by her, and that why I'm so anxious to read TSDM. Sorry you didn't enjoy it as much as I did 5y

I finally got my March Wrap Up video up! Let‘s talk about our March reads! https://youtu.be/rjnOBzrOxCk

Also, please don‘t mind my inability to speak properly. When I say, “The ship shrunk,” I, of course, mean that it sunk. 😂😂😂

#marchwrapup #booksreadinmarch #readingreviews #bookreviews #booktube

EadieB @Butterflyamore Enjoyed the video - The only book I read was Broken Girls and I gave it 5 stars and enjoyed it very much. I think I would like to read: Hollywood Park, The Good Girls Guide to Murder, Emma In the Night, Woman On The Edge, and The Liar's Daughter.
I read 15 books in March. My favorite books for March were:
The Borden Murders by Sarah Miller - ★★★★★
The Split by Sharon Bolton - ★★★★★
The Stone Cutter by Camilla Lackberg - ★★★★★
(edited) 5y
EadieB The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern - ★★★★★
Woman 99 by Greer Macallister - ★★★★★
The Silence by Luca Veste - ★★★★★ -
5y
abookishbutterfly @EadieB I actually ended up finding a secondhand copy of The Borden Murders at my local bookstore a couple days after you mentioned it last month! I‘m planning to get to The Split (hopefully) this month. 5y

The Broken Girls tells the story of a haunted boarding school in the 1950s, a missing student, and a present day journalist, a woman still traumatized by the murder of her sister. She is drawn into the story behind the restoration of Idlewild Hall, the boarding school grounds where her sister‘s body had been found 20 years earlier.

There is no denying it. I am a book hog.

I received an email the other day about a new Goodwill bookstore in a town that‘s roughly a 30 minute drive from us so I had to go to the grand opening sale.

I did follow the rule I set for myself when buying secondhand books. I knew what all of these were without reading the synopsis and knew they were all on my “want to read” list.

BlameJennyJane I‘m reading Broken Girls now and loving it! 5y
Crazeedi Oh wow, you got some great books! 5y
abookishbutterfly @Crazeedi I was very excited about them all! 5y

abookishbutterfly @BlameJennyJane I‘ve been wanting to read it for so long! 5y
Butterfinger I have the same rule. 5y
BlameJennyJane @Butterflyamore I‘m loving it as much as I enjoyed her newest 5y
abookishbutterfly @BlameJennyJane I have her new one but haven‘t gotten to read it yet. I had gotten it from BOTM but when I joined BOTM, The Broken Girls was already sold out. 😥 5y
abookishbutterfly @Butterfinger I really thought it would help me curb my book buying habit but I apparently recognize a lot of books out in the wild. 😂 5y

#gratefulreads Day 7 my kindles are my #favouritebookishitem. Or #favoritebookishitem if you choose the other spelling 😁😁
While I do prefer print books ebooks are great for convenience, cost and checking out samples
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620

OriginalCyn620 Same! Print books will always be my favorite but e readers are so great for many reasons! 5y
ljuliel I agree, my Kindle has become a very important item to me. It‘s not one book, it‘s a whole bunch all in one tiny place ! 5y
LinesUponAPage Which edition is the black one? Which Kindle do you prefer? I love my Kindle Paperwhite however it‘s starting to feel a little tiny to me lately. I love the Kindle App on my IPad but the glare doesn‘t make it outdoor friendly which irks me. 😂 (edited) 5y

Cathythoughts Yes kindle is a great addition to the reading .... I often find books that are out of print are available on kindle ! 5y
Balibee146 @lifeisasnap...they are both really old models but working perfectly... The back one is the smaller Kindle HDX I've had them both for years.... Can't justify a newer back-lit one as the just won't die lol 👍 5y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks 📚☺️🙌🏻 5y
Balibee146 @Lifeisasnap my tag above went wonky sorry 😉 5y
Hooked_on_books Also great for travel. I can bring a whole library along on my nook and it weighs next to nothing. Fabulous! 5y
