I liked the bee through line. Definitely points where it felt Hallmark with more of a cause.

why i chose the book: I should grow up. Be more mature. I'll start by reading this book.
This book started out as your typical rom com and seemed to have all the trappings of a Hallmark film. But then the main character, reeling from a horrible breakup, decides to devote her time to helping others. From here the tone ultimately shifts almost entirely to an Eat, Pray, Love vibe. And therein was my problem connecting with the story. At some point it felt like two different novels altogether. It was ok, I just didn‘t fully connect.
Well, I definitely don‘t love bees, but we‘ll see how I feel about this book!
For those who yearn to find meaning and their place in this world. For those who already have a passion, but fall short of a vision for the possibility of making a difference with their gift. For those who want their eyes and hearts opened to recreating themselves. This could be a book for you-your heart-your creative mind-or just a really good read🙂
Bee books seem right for October because I love hot apple cider - and honey bees want what I have in hand.
I‘m always down for that eat-pray-love search to reset one‘s life when its trajectory goes askew. Impacting that life via humanitarian mission could have been a fascinating story. But the constant overly described appearance and attire of the secondary characters threw this story off kilter for me.
Book 3 done for #24b4monday
3.5 Stars
Predictable and sweet like a Hallmark movie but with the added bonus of great atmospheric descriptions. I liked that although it's a bit fluffy it doesn't pull any punches when it comes to the reality of the refugee crisis or extreme poverty. I laughed, I cried and I really enjoyed this one.
When Mia‘s long-term boyfriend asks for a break, she finds herself embarking on a humanitarian trip that takes her from the slums of Mumbai to the refugee boarder crisis in Europe.
While there were moments I enjoyed,I felt this was essentially a light romance and a bit of a fluff read. Maybe it was my expectations & not the book, but I was expecting more depth and so was left a bit disappointed. 👍 for the cover though 🐝
Brokenhearted baker Mia joins a humanitarian aid project at the last minute thinking that is what will cure her broken heart and shattered dreams. Knee deep into the humanatarian work she finds she is torn on what she really wants. In love and in life. Are her dreams big enough to make the difference she longs to make in this world? A little slow start for me but it picked up. The author wrote knowledgeably about many current crises. 🍰🍰🍰🍰

Its been a great week!! Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
After Mia loses her job and suffers a breakup with her long-term boyfriend, she decides that traveling with a humanitarian group around the world to “make a difference” is just what she needs to figure her life out.
I thought this book fell into the “just okay” category. There wasn‘t really anything new or refreshing about this story. It‘s basically been done before and was overly predictable. I doubt that it will stick with me very long.
This is Prince Charming, the llama (really!).
I live near a park with a small zoo and I see him often when I do my #audiowalk early in the morning.
