Genre: Fantasy
I read this book because I have watched many versions of the movie and so I wanted to see the similarities, but one of the biggest differences are Dorothy‘s shoes. In the book her shoes are actually silver but in the movie they are red, I find that the red shoes look better but I like the book more then the movies because it was descriptive.

Watched half of this last night and the other half this morning. It‘s a Hallmark movie. The main character‘s name is Darcy Gale and there are so many references to The Wizard of Oz that make it really cute. I may have to watch it again to find them all. I really liked it. #WinterGames2020 #MerryReaders #HolidayMovie

Anna Hathaway does a wonderful job narrating this tale. As I had never read the book before I was shocked to realise that Dorothy's slippers were originally silver and not ruby! 🤯 Those shoes are so iconic, I never imagined they could be anything but.

lucifare I remember my sister and I reading this when I was a kid and I was so confused and insisted that we had the wrong book because I couldn‘t imagine the slippers being anything other than red! 😂 4y

I chose this book I wanted to re-read it.

The magical land of Oz is whisked away from Dorothy (Judy Garland) and her friend, Toto, at home when a tornado rips through Kansas. To meet the Wizard, they follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City, and on their way they find a Scarecrow (Ray Bolger) who needs a brain, a heart-missing Tin Man (Jack Haley) and a courageous Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr).
