The cat comics were cute and made me smile. The rest of the book was okay but not great. The artwork wasn‘t what I expected, not good, but each artist has her own style.
This will come off my next month #bookspin and be replaced with a free space.

Quirky art and some laugh out loud parts. There are some seriously funny comics in here, and it is totally worth it to wade through the few that aren‘t quite as great.
"Mom loves her books, so if I just stay near the books she can't leave without me, right?"

Has anyone read this story from The New Yorker? There‘s so much about consent and misunderstanding in here that I feel it‘s worth a read. Also, power and men and women and how these dynamics can unfold and roles get played and sometimes they are so subtle that you miss them... or more often than not, choose to ignore them in favor of what you want. Check it out: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/12/11/cat-person
Note: This is a short story in the New Yorker by Kristen Roupenian and not the book in the database.
This story was published in the New Yorker a few weeks back and received quite a bit of hype because of the #metoo zeitgeist. However, while I found it relatable, it was mediocre. It read like a case study, as if the author had been hired to write it for a girls' dating textbook and far beneath the standards of the magazine.
This was delightful! I laughed my way through almost the entire book. Seo included comics about her life, her cat Jimmy and her boyfriend Eddie. Loved them all. The handful of miscellaneous comics at the very end were cute but just okay compared to Seo's more personal comics.

Starting another one of my #shortreads. Determined to at least almost meet my reading goal this year. #endpapers
