Welcome to the Dark House | Laurie Faria Stolarz

What's your worst nightmare? For Ivy Jensen, it's the eyes of a killer that haunt her nights. For Parker Bradley, it's bloodthirsty sea serpents that slither in his dreams. And for seven essay contestants, it's their worst nightmares that win them an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at director Justin Blake's latest, confidential project . Ivy doesn't even like scary movies, but she's ready to face her real-world fears. Parker's sympathetic words and perfect smile help keep her spirits up. . . at least for now. Not everyone is so charming, though. Horror-film fanatic Garth Vader wants to stir up trouble. It's bad enough he has to stay in the middle of nowhere with this groupthe girl who locks herself in her room; the know-it-all roommate; "Mister Sensitive"; and the one who's too cheery for her own good. Someone has to make things interesting. Except, things are already a little weird. The hostess is a serial-killer look-alike, the dream-stealing Nightmare Elf is lurking about, and the seventh member of the group is missing. By the time Ivy and Parker realize what's really at stake, it's too late to wake up and run.

I quite enjoyed this read and plan to read the next 2 in the series as well. Definitely gave me the 2006 Stay Alive movie vibes!

The characters weren't well developed and I didn't really care when one died, except for one who annoyed me so much I was glad they were killed. I have no idea how the sequel works but I won't be wasting my time

8 kids win a contest to visit the Popular Dark House from their favorite horror films. What can go wrong?

This was a great horror read and reads like a horror film so don't isn't in depth character development you get their background but that's about it. That didn't stop it from being a nail biting reading experience.

Damn you, Book Outlet. #classroomlibrary Bonus: you can just see the bottom of my Ryan Gosling shrine. Everyone in the school knows I pine.

This book was just ok. It was an easy, quick read which I needed at the end of the school year. However, it wasn't particularly memorable and I don't think I will be reading the next one in the series.

This was practically a teen version of Stephen King's books. I loved it so much. I couldn't put it down at all. You go through six different characters, and the best part is they are all different. They are all unique. They each have their own nightmares that they have to face. I cannot wait to start the next book!!! #books #welcometothedarkhouse #bookstagram #amazing
