#donthauntthisplace #TimbitTunes This book , Mailers longest at 1300 pages. Its subject, the CIA thru the eyes of Harry Hubbard in the era of the Cuban revolution, the Mafia in the 1960s,&the Kennedy assassination. So it mixes real & fictional characters.I remember liking it. It was supposed to have a sequel,Harlot‘s Grave ,but between time and other projects,it never got written.

1. Harlot's Ghost by Norman Mailer, 1300 pages, which ended with, To be continued!
2. Smaller straight to the point books but I do seem to end up reading a lot of big books with lots of detail.
3. With lots of milk!
4. Adagio's Earl Grey Moonlight, so good.
5. At the kitchen table.
6. Nancy Drew and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory were my first 'big kid' books that got me hooked for life.

Took me more than 2 years... Monster book at 1400 pg but it was that book I'd put down, read a chunk, go months before picking it up. Not a Mailer fan, and I had my usual issues, but the stories of Hubbard's past were interesting. At a certain point, I wavered between bailing and finishing it, hoping it would get better. The last words left me tossing the weighty tome across the room. So not worth it for me in the end. @Liberty
It's the end of that booktastic sale that I've been running all weekend. I keep making little piles of books to take home. This is today's, including a copy of The Prince of Tides because someone mentioned it the other day and I realized I can't find my copy. (When my husband divorces me for hoarding, I can just make a shelter out of the books I've collected, right??)
My favorite chair to read in is their favorite chair to nap in 😕
Wonderful odyssey of a family in 50's and 60's--suspenseful--political historical fiction. Long read.
