Not Dead Enough
Not Dead Enough | Peter James

Appearances can be deceptive; but the truth is a dangerous thing . . . On the night Brian Bishop murdered his wife he was sixty miles away, asleep in bed at the time. At least that's the way it looks to Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, who is called in to investigate the kinky slaying of beautiful socialite, Katie Bishop. Roy Grace soon starts coming to the conclusion that Bishop has performed the apparently impossible feat of being in two places at once. Has someone stolen his identity or is he simply a very clever liar? As Roy Grace digs deeper behind the faade of the Bishops' outwardly respectable lives, it becomes clear that everything is not at all as it first seemed. Then he digs just a little too far, and suddenly the fragile stability of his own troubled world is facing destruction . . . Not Dead Enough is the third bestselling title in the Roy Grace series from the number one bestselling author Peter James.

I've enjoyed the story. I quite soon guessed what the difficulty was in this murder case and what the solution was. Some characters behaviours annoyed me. I also don't like how when two people have dates it always starts and ends with sex. Where is the depth? So annoying. I would love to read a thriller without alcoholism, sexism, or sex.

Another good time with Roy Grace. I did figure out the twist early on so this felt unnecessarily lengthy, but that‘s not James‘ fault. The medium stuff seems to have been sidelined so for that I am grateful. #SeriesRead2021

Grace certainly had to think hard about this case, the murder of 2 women, one suspect...only problem is the suspect was no where near the victims when they died and has a strong alibi. This story is one that keeps on your brain, keeps you thinking and wondering about who it could have been even when your not reading it.It has a great depth to the book with the great descriptions of the characters and the writing technique of Peter James is great

This book was such a good read, it took me a few chapters to get into it as there are quite a few characters but Once I got into it, I couldn‘t put it down! The main character Rob Grace is great, I hope there is a second part to the book as I need to find out what happened to Sandy! #detective #thriller

Time to continue reading...I am loving this book so far. I am thinking there‘s a personality disorder maybe with the killer and it‘s bishop doing the murders? Ohhh I don‘t know....but I can‘t wait to find out.

laura26 Go on kitkat, ;) should we get some drink for the journey? 5y

I could never understand why I lost memory‘s when my grandad died, I tried to do everything in my power to bring them back. Grief and shock are a horrible thing. Maybe I will find the memory‘s again one day. #love #grandad #death #heartbreak

A little afternoon reading. I have been trying to have more me time. I have always found reading good for the soul and gives me time to switch off from real life. I have not even even reached half way through this week and I am already hooked. Peter really puts emphasis on the characters and their unique personality‘s. I feel like there is going to be a massive twist with Sandy...I can‘t wait to find out more! #Thriller #killer #coldblood

Reposting the photo with a beer because I will be grabbing one now anyway. Not Dead Enough is the third in the series featuring Detective Roy Grace.I really like the series and will continue on though I thought this one was a little longer than it needed to be.I also figured out a major plot twist way early , you never know what to do: should you congratulate yourself for being bright or beat yourself up for ruining it a little.😁

Reading on vacation, #lovingportugal, found the book in my air B and B, quick read, new author for me, good characters, story ok, ultimately not great, but perfect for after sightseeing. Pic above from Sintra, outside of Lisbon...highly recommend Portugal!

Time for Roy Grace #3! I have one week left of my holidays and haven't read anywhere near as much as I'd planned - so it's all about getting cracking ;-) I love the cover art for this one and so far am very keen on the story too. Peter James is become a fast favourite!
