Bk2 of February was the 1st in another Saintcrow series. It‘s fitting seeing as my year so far has been touched by the 😈I think this was her debut novel? Dante Valentine is a Necromance, minding her own business when the demon Japhrimel knocks on her door & tells her she has an appt with Lucifer. He wants her to track down an escaped demon by whatever means & gives her no choice in the matter. It‘s another dark & violent ride👍 #SeriesLove2024

I read this for a Discord online book club. I didn‘t think I would like it, but I ended up really enjoying it!

#AugustABC #Day8 #HolyHell This series was the first Lilith Saintcrow books I‘d ever read, I loved them so much I‘ve now read everything she‘s written. My favourites are the Jill Kismet books but these are fantastic as well. Dante Valentine is a necromance who raises the dead for a living. Until the devil wants her for a job & sends his right-hand-man Japhrimel to make her an offer she can‘t refuse. Holy hell indeed.

Eggs Yeahhhhh 👿🖤😈 5y

Decided to start re-reading this series. Must be nearly 10 years since I last read these and I can barely remember anything! 😅😅

#EmojiNov #day19 #👹 #Devils Lilith Saintcrow is one of my favorite authors, she writes very dark paranormal books, they‘re very heavy & full of action. This is her Dante Valentine series which was the first books of hers I‘d read, before Jill Kismet. Dante Valentine is a necromance with attitude & a big sword, when her door is knocked down by a demon who says Lucifer has a job for her to do, track down a demon & he won‘t kill her & her friends.

LectricSheep This series sounds so fun! 💀 6y

I'm hoping one of these (or all of these) might fill the empty hole left in my life by Charlaine Harris and Janet Evanovich. Meaning that I'm on the look for a new light fantasy series or adventure series (or a bit of both). I've gotten really good recommendations from Litsy and I think some of these might work also. Can't wait to get into these! 😊

Lizpixie Blood Noir is about seventeen books into that series, you'd be best off starting from the beginning with Guilty Pleasures. Dante Valentine is fantastic, Lilith Saintcrow is one of my favourite paranormal authors, I have this whole series plus her Jill Kismet series & her Bannon & Clare Victorian steampunk magic series. 7y
Martta @Lizpixie Thanks! That's a really good tip! 😊 I just read the back cover and thought to try it out. I did search for other parts of the series but since it was a used-book store I couldn't find any. Maybe I'll just take this back and keep looking for one of those earlier parts. 🤔📖 Or maybe I should just read few pages first and see if it's the style I might like. 🤔😊 7y
Martta @Lizpixie Do we have the same problem with this series as with for example Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books where the first books are good but the later you move with the series the books do not hold their quality or is it just as good in the beginning as in the end? 7y

Lizpixie With the Anita Blake series (Blood Noir) the first books are definitely a lot better. Once you get past Bk9 it goes downhill pretty rapidly unfortunately. At this point (bk21) I'm buying out of habit and hope she'll pull it together again. 7y
Martta @Lizpixie Oh, that's unfortunate! Then I'll definitely take this back to the store and see if there are any earlier books in the series. Thanks for the tip! It was very helpful! 😄 7y
Lizpixie No worries!🤘 7y

#booktober #day26 #rereads For a dark Halloween type reread I have to go with most of Lilith Saintcrows series. I love Jill Kismet, her Bannon&Clare are a steampunk fantasy but it's Dante Valentine I first read & was hooked.Dante is a necromance bounty hunter until a demon shows up at her door with an offer she can't refuse. Now she's working for the Devil & trying to survive. If you haven't read it & you like dark paranormal fantasy, it's for you.

Want a hell of a ride complete with guns, swords, magic and demons? Pick this one up to read. Saintcrow takes off running and you either go with the flow or are left behind. A mash of sci fi and urban fantasy, this book is a fast paced, adrenaline ride.

I've downloaded and started 8 books but nothing is grabbing me! 😳 I'm hoping I can get sucked into this book for a few hours tonight. I just want to get obsessed with a good chunky series with great characters and magic and writing that makes me forget everything around me! 🙌🏼 Reading slumps = 😝

sarahgreatlove Have you read the winners series by Marie rutkoski? I just finished the finale. They're not change-your-entire-world books but the characters are engaging and they're very hard to put down. 8y
Gulfskye I hate reading slumps especially after a stretch of really good books. I picked up a few books in Carrie Vaughn's Kitty Series at the used bookstore last week. I think Kitty and the Midnight Hour is the first book. 8y
SwayBug I'm in a reading slump myself, simply can't get into the new Joe Hill despite the intriguing premise. 8y

HeatherB I'm still trying to find something to hold my attention after ACOMAF. Can't stop thinking about Rhysand, he's at the top of my book boyfriend list now. 8y
Saruh I've been in such a reading slump too!! They're totally not good for mental wellbeing. 😂 8y
