Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose
Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose | Dr. Seuss
8 posts | 15 read | 2 to read
Join one of Dr. Seuss's most giving characters in the classic picture book Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose. Poor Thidwick's generosity proves the adage that no good deed goes unpunished, and soon everyone, from a tiny Bingle Bug to a huge bear, is taking advantage of our antlered hero. With Seuss's rhyming text and endearing illustrations, this beloved story about a kindhearted moose and the bullies that make a home on his horns is an ideal way to introduce children to the invaluable concept of self-respect.

Today‘s story time book was a Christmas present from some fishing friends we go to Canada with. It‘s such a cute story and I never knew it existed! #merryreaders #wintergames

5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So I loved this book. But i can see why I don‘t remember it from childhood. A big soft hearted moose doesn‘t turn his guests always even when they abuse him. But he gets his revenge in the end. Its funny, and tongue in cheek, and put a big smile on my face. I would give it as a gift, but don't expect a movie any time soon.

Name: Ammy (pronounced A-me) and “no it‘s not a typo” “yes there are 2 Ms”

When Man Cub was 3ish we went to Ikea and he got this Moose (pictured 👆🏼). One night being silly I put my glasses on him, took some pictures, then gave him ‘The Catcher in the Rye‘ and took more pictures. We had an orange moose reading. I started a book related Tumblr (never did much) and used the name. I joined Litsy it seemed natural to use.

Dr. Seuss is an amazing children's author who really knows how to incorporate great messages into his Fantasy books. In this particular book, the message is that you shouldn't be too nice to some people because they can just walk all over you! Below is a link to Seuss website: http://m.seussville.com/ #UCFLAE3414sp17

JRQuintanilla I love the Seuss website. Can never go wrong with children reading the classics! 8y
DrSpalding I agree with JR. You can't go wrong. 8y

This Fantasy book by Dr. Seuss is such a great book! It has wonderful illustrations that the children will love! The story is about a moose, and has a theme of what goes around comes around (karma). If you treat other good, good things will happen to you but if you treat people bad, bad things will happen to you! #ucflae3414sp17 check out the Seuss website: http://m.seussville.com/index.html

DrSpalding This was one of the Kohl's cares books. I bought the book and the plush Thidwick character. 8y

"And they very next thing the poor animal knew, a bobcat and turtle were living with there too! NOW what was the big-hearted moose going to do?" This Dr. Seuss fantasy has a underlying theme of karma and if you are nice/mean to others it will eventually come back around. Here is the Seussville website that has games, books, and activities: http://m.seussville.com/index.html #UCFLAE3414sp17

krystag This is one book I have never read by Dr. Suess but recently picked up at Kohls! I'll definitely have to read, especially since I have the plush too! The website is great for interactive fun for those students that like games and hands-on activities while learning about such a famous author and his characters! (edited) 8y
DrSpalding His site is amazing. Makes a great literacy station! So happy to hear of you buying books at Kohl's @krystag 🙂📚 8y
AlexandriaJ I am with @krystag on this one! I recently went and bought all of the Dr. Suess books that were at Kohl's since I won The Sneetches and Other Stories in class. I chose this specific website for my book as well because it has a variety of things that children can choose from and is very intriguing to a younger audience! 8y

As best I can tell, this book is identical to Horton Hatches The Egg, but with the exactly opposite moral. If Horton had read it first, he would have told Maisy Bird to screw herself and then made himself an omelet.

StitchedDreams The caption made me nearly spit out my water 9y
faithx5 I've never heard of this one! I'm super curious now, though! 9y
