The Girl in the Green Raincoat
The Girl in the Green Raincoat: A Tess Monaghan Novel | Laura Lippman
11 posts | 15 read | 7 to read
Lippman is a writing powerhouse. USA Today I love her books. Harlan Coben New York Times bestselling author Laura Lippmanwinner of the Edgar Award and every other major literary prize given for mystery and crime fictionembroils Baltimore p.i. Tess Monaghan in the strange case of The Girl in the Green Raincoat. Originally serialized in the New York Times, The Girl in the Green Raincoat is now in book form for the very first timea masterful thriller in the Alfred Hitchcock mode that places a very pregnant, homebound Tess in the center of a murderous puzzle that could cost her her life and the life of her unborn child.

First time reading this author after seeing an interview with her and finding out she is from my home state. It was an easy quick read and I would give it a 4⭐️ #1 of 2023

#MarchMadness #GreenCovers

I got home from work too late for a good photo with green covers so I‘m collaging a dozen books with green on the covers from my stacks. 📚💚

Tess Monaghan has been put on bed rest for the last two months of her pregnancy. Day after day she watches a girl in a green raincoat in the park with her greyhound, until one day Tess ominously notices the dog running loose. Convinced some harm has befallen its owner she becomes dangerously obsessed with learning her fate.

Found this Bowie coat collage on google had to use it. I haven't read the tagged book but thought it went nicely with the Bowie pics.

Not being super familiar with the thriller genre, I read this for the #ssdgmchallenge Female Detective Thriller box, but now I'm not really sure it qualifies. It features Tess Monaghan, who is a PI, which is kind of like a detective? @shanebeth, what do you think?

I really enjoyed this, and it makes me want to read more from this author. And the audio was mostly excellent. 4⭐

And so begins another Tess Monaghan book. I love this series. I grew up in the Baltimore area and love reading about landmarks, streets and restaurants that are familiar.

A short book, the story was first written as a series in the New York Times and then made into book form.

Tess is pregnant and on bed rest, so she occupies herself with watching the world outside her window, which of course leads her into trouble when she can't suppress her busybody tendencies. One of my favorites in the series. #girlinthetitle #readjanuary @RealLifeReading

As much as I hate the #Girl title trend, I seem to read a lot of them. #ReadJanuary

shelf-improvement @MicheleinPhilly, @WordWaller I found 50 in my Goodreads shelf. @Marchpane They're hard to avoid, but so many of these could have had much better titles. 8y
