Now that you've read GONE GIRL... Alice Loudon has it all: a devoted boyfriend, a marvelous circle of friends, a challenging job as a research scientist. Then one morning, on her way to work, she exchanges a lingering look with a devastatingly attractive man. Adam Tallis is the essence of every female fantasy--a daring mountain climber who has been hailed as a hero. As a lover, he is more passionate than Alice's wildest imaginings. Soon there isn't anything or anyone she wouldn't give up to stay by his side. Soon all she has is Adam, and life with this stranger will take her to new heights of madness...and fear.

Nicci French writes great psychological thrillers. No one wants a #SecretAdmirer like this one! 😳🙀 Also made into a good film.

vivastory I have seen the movie around, was unaware it was an adaptation. The only French that I have read is Blue Monday but I loved it. Am planning on reading more. 3y
Andrew65 @vivastory The Frieda Klein series that starts with Blue Monday is excellent and only gets better. I do love their standalones as well. 3y
Eggs Well done 👏🏻🥳👍🏼 3y

Pickpick

At first I was not convinced, because I felt like the protagonist was an idiot, and I got tired of all the sex stuff. Then the story started growing on me, and it ended up being a decent read, even though not that surprising. 3,5 stars. Reading this as a buddy read with @Andrew65 and @EadieB #NicciFrenchBuddyRead

Andrew65 Glad you enjoyed it in the end. Her other books are a bit different to this one. 4y

Awful. I‘ll never get that time back and it makes me sad.

Dolly Thanks for taking one for the team 😕 5y
Cathythoughts Oh no !! It looks so promising 🤷🏻‍♀️ 5y
Shemac77 @Cathythoughts I thought so too! But maybe I wasn‘t in the mood for it. It was quite dark as well which I normally don‘t mind but this time it just felt a little too dark. 5y

Love Nicci French books and this novel of obsession is amongst the very best. #ItsGonnaBeMe. So suspenseful and full of tension. Also a film with Heather Graham and Joseph Fiennes.

This book by the husband and wife team of Nicci French is highly psychological, as well as being one of my favourite books. Quick synopsis : girl sees man on street, girl enters relationship with the man and then wonders about him! #suspiciousminds. Can't say any more without giving it away! There is also a film of the book but not seen that. If you like psychological fiction check out their books. #rocktober

Cinfhen I keep seeing this author but have never tried her books...is it a series?!? 7y
Andrew65 @Cinfhen This one is a standalone, they do have a series (Freida Klein Series) but so far only read their psychological standalones. 7y
TrishB The series is great 👍 Frieda is a brilliant character. 7y

One of the best books the husband and wife team known as Nicci French have written, a definite 5 star book and also a film of the book out there. Very psychological, as are most of their books. #taintedlove #junetunz

Cinfhen Really a 5 star read??? I gotta stack it, then!!! 7y
Andrew65 @Cinfhen I did really enjoy it (although given the psychological nature of it, enjoy is quite the right word) 7y
Andrew65 @DivineDiana Notice you stacked this, hope you enjoy it. 7y

This has to be one of the ultimate books about #obsession, and is one of my favourite books by the husband and wife team named Nicci French. Very psychological. There is a film of this book but yet to see that.

Picture from the Penguin.co.uk website who publish this book.

Ms_T Ooh, I like a psychological thriller. #Stacked 7y
Andrew65 Most of their standalones are psychological. Do recommend them if you like psychological. 😊 7y
andrew61 Not tried them, but keep meaning to 7y
