Just eh for me. I loved that she read it herself since her voice is so unique. The first chapter grabbed my attention right away but the rest of her book was just eh. I kept waiting for the good parts and funny stuff on her mother but it never really came. Part of it could be shes older and I didnt know who she was until I looked her up.

Penny Marshall was a part of some of my favorite movies such as Big and A League of Their Own. I was the perfect age to enjoy the silly comedy of Laverne and Shirley in the 70‘s. I enjoyed hearing what it was like to grow up in the Bronx in the 40‘s/50‘s. Her mom was a character, but not so nuts. Her voice and delivery was authentic, and I could almost imagine that she was sharing memories with me. 3/5🥜s

Half way though. Penny wasn‘t kidding about the title. But mom wasn‘t the only one.

Going to try to listen to this all in one day as my Kindle Unlimited expires today.

She died recently. Lived a very interesting life indeed.

Sad to hear Penny Marshall has died. I can remember watching Laverne & Shirley when I was really little.

I enjoyed spending a few hours with Penny. She is a tough woman who speaks her mind & does what she wants. That gets her into trouble sometimes, but she keeps kicking. A very funny & fierce woman.

Being a Penny Marshall fan, I was excited to read this. It was really interesting to hear the history behind some shows and films and also to hear about how the 1% live.

It is hard to concentrate on my book when this is my view this afternoon. #vacation #roatan #thisiswhyiwork

Not a huge fan of this. It was okay in the beginning, but the longer it went on it just felt like this was a way for her to name drop and talk about how great she is. It wasn't really for me.

After a handful of books that emotionally wrecked me, it's time for some levity!

I read this book awhile back. She painted a very flattering portrait of her brother, and the help he gave her to start her career. Overall, the book dropped way too many names, which is why it's so-so. I didn't realize Garry died this week. He had a long life, and I really appreciated his films. RIP
