I want to read this book!
I got my annual flu shot this week. I hope it protects me from the Georgia Flu.
Punderson State Park, Newbury, Ohio
We need to get this book along with Quiet by Susan Cain into the hands of those who really need them. The Extroverts! A little understanding would be nice. Would it be tacky if I left them on my manager's desk?
This guy/gal found the best spot for sunbathing on Lake Erie. Vermilion, Ohio, USA.
They do say‘—he wiped his nose again—‘they do say that watching pigs cures melancholy. It never cured mine, though . . .‘
Piglets = Joy. I love fair season!
Happy 150th Birthday, Cleveland Public Library!
I'm finding it a little hard to read tonight.
Special edition cover for #FreeComicBookDay featuring Carol & John's Comic Book Shop's cat, Winston
Carol & John's Comic Book Shop in Cleveland Ohio is the place to be on #freecomicbookday. This shop appeared briefly in the film, American Splendor.
Public art in Akron, Ohio. The kiosk plays music from artists from Akron. Spud boys rejoice!
Spread your wisdom, oh wise one. I am a sponge!
Gonna be your man in motion
All I need is a pair of wheels...
Come on, you know you want to sing it!
A sad story, but a loving story about a partnership & friendship. I wish that the author used the f-word a lot less. I am not a prude, but I found myself cringing towards the end. Give me some euphemisms. Be a little creative.
Having recently viewed the award-winning episode of Star Trek with my daughters, I decided to read the master's original script while the show was still fresh in my mind. Yes, his script was much better and more intriguing.
I knew Ellison had a reputation for being volatile, but WOW, I almost stopped reading his side of the story. He was so eloquent and folksy at the same time I could not put the book down. Yes, I was under his spell.
This bad boy is going back to the library. I hate to bail on a book, but I just couldn't get into it. It's time to move on.
I got the blues! I finally did it. I bought the same book at two different library sales a few months apart. I guess this proves that my taste is consistent.
A portal to a magical realm in the heart of Cleveland? Makes perfect sense to me.
I am baffled by the Canton Charge mascot, Pozzie. He's an underdog according to the Charge's website. My kids thought he was a giant shredded cheese man.
Hello Cleveland! The Terminal Tower looks like a giant Bomb Pop.
Reading Harvey Pekar makes me worry about my retirement plan.
Happy 2019, Littens! Going to bed now.
"I bid my hideous progeny go forth and prosper." I'll try this one at the kids's bus stop in the morning. I wonder if they'll notice!
My Cleveland Public Library card featuring Harvey Pekar. Read this book for some library love.
Merry, merry!
This guy was something else. He was a snake oil salesmen, a carnival man and vaudevillian. He impersonated Native American celebrities & war heroes. When people started to suspect him, he skipped out & ran his scam in another town. He made himself a tribal leader, then a prince. He bilked people on two continents for a modern day equivalent of $58 million. It is amazing what people could get away with in the days before information sharing.
Fine art, the afterlife, Idaho & classic vinyl LPs. This should be one fun mashup. Couldn't resist that potato pun!
We had my daughter's party last night. I am so proud of this cake. She took this photo at the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, AZ while we were on vacation last summer. She got the photo developed on edible paper so she could put it on the cake. Beautiful and delicious!
There are so many open ends. It's hard to believe that this trilogy is done. Here's hoping Vic has another book in her!
Loved this! Magic, monsters & the coyote trickster. I am looking forward to Maggie's next adventure.
This is one fun mashup. The Red Scare, LGBTQ history, theater luminaries, and cartoon characters all in one place. Heavens to murgatroyd!
Rose Marie was in show business for 90 years. Star of radio, television, stage, screen & nightclubs.
She had mob connections thanks to her father. She tells a fascinating story about being swept up after a show to perform for Al Capone when she was child star. The mob may have protected her, but it was her huge talent that opened the doors for her.
I encountered this lovely guy while camping in Northeast Ohio last night. Check out these glorious colors.
I am looking forward to Good Omens, the TV series. Michael McKean as Shadwell! That alone is worth the price of the subscription service.
This book just called out to me. I've told my kids since they were little that being weird is great because the opposite of weird is BORING.
My book winning streak continues. It's so nice to receive something other than bills in the mail!
I found this on my doorstep today. What a delight it is to win a book you really want!
"Queen and cairn and temple bells." I love the colorful way the characters of this fictional land speak.
Taking the night off from reading for Retro Night at the drive-in. The Goonies & Gremlins. No popcorn after midnight.
This book came shrink-wrapped. I'm sure Oscar would have had a great one-liner about that which would have ended up attributed to Groucho.
This book was written by an alum from my undergrad. He went on a blind date with my freshman year roommate. She said he was "okay." Given his love of pulp novels, I guess he was more my type than hers. Bad timing for all involved, I guess.
Needless to say, I enjoyed this book. I love the bigger than life hero & the dastardly villian. What more can you ask for? Perhaps a Book 2.
A mystery set in the Jazz Age with Louise Brooks on the cover. What could go wrong? I had high hopes for this one, but it moved too slowly for my taste. I'm in no big hurry to see the Netflix series now.
