Low pick. This book did what I expected of it. I have to say it took me a while to guess the murderer…my own theory was a bit outlandish 😂

A promising start… Death! with an exclamation mark no less 💀❗️
First published in 1938, this is a vintage style mystery. When Henry Fairport sees a man die in the British Museum Reading Room, he's determined to help the police solve the murder. I liked the style of this and will look for more British Library Crime Classics.
This was a classic 1930‘s British crime story, and in that sense, I enjoyed it! It didn‘t really impress me as anything more, though.
Brought it along to my brief vacation in The Gorge in OR/WA last weekend, and the scenery reminded me a little of the Moors in the book 👍🏻
⭐️⭐️⭐️
A competent enough mystery with the usual sort of set of characters. Easy reading. So-so seems such an ungenerous rating for something I read in one go and found entertaining, so even though it's nothing exceptional, I'll call it a pick.
It is worth noting that I'm in the perfect mood for a cozy, having just handed in a godawful assignment from hell and had to ban someone from a website because they decided the right way to respond to me (as a moderator) telling them off was to dig up my real name, find my Facebook, and comment on a pic of the bunnies that they were going to eat them. People, why.
Hulk is cleaning the mere thought of this person off her face. #BunniesofLitsy
Yep. Oops.
Started on Murder in the Museum on a whim and I'm honestly tempted to finish it before bed. It's typical Golden Age, but I'm being amused by the web of scholarly jealousies.
A tidy mystery -- perfect for a holiday or weekend read! Fairly short at just over 200 pages. I wish the plot line had included more about the British Museum (rather than just initial setting) and the academics' specialities (Elizabethan literature). Still well worth the read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A cosy British mystery + literary academics + British Museum = some of my favourite things!! Hoping this one is worth the read!
