Law student Chloe Larson is savagely attacked in her own bedroom, her assailant wore a mask & no physical evidence was found & he was never caught. 12 years later, now known as CJ, she works for the Miami-Dade State Attorney's office & specialises in difficult cases. The latest is the killer known as Cupid, who kidnaps, rapes & tortures his victims, before removing their hearts & he has killed 10 women so far with the eleventh currently missing.
I've had this on my TBR shelf for years but never got around to reading it. I wasn't missing a lot: cliché, overly sexualising towards female characters, a very obvious (to me) twist, & a corny romance between CJ & another character. There's also no reason it was dragged out for over 500 pages, but I did find myself becoming engrossed in the plot for the final third. 2.5⭐ 11mo
