BooksandCoffee4Me Oh, Dabbe , your haiku poignantly hit the heart of the texts. I hope you‘re sharing these with students if you‘re teaching (sorry I can‘t remember if you are). 1w
dabbe @BooksandCoffee4Me You just made my day, week, month ... TY! I've been having such fun writing these. I am retired now, so I won't be sharing them with my students (alas), but I'm saving them just for me! My husband's had to listen to all of them, too. 🤣🤩😍 1w
BooksandCoffee4Me @dabbe it‘s so hard being a retired teacher because I still have so much I want to share with high schoolers. I‘m in the first year so I guess that‘s normal. I even dreamt about a parent conference two nights ago — it went well, by the way. 😂 1w

dabbe @BooksandCoffee4Me I felt the exact same way my first year. I even subbed quite a bit and was an AP proctor just so I could go back and hang with the students. Now in my 4th year of retirement, I am completely done with it all! I subbed one day last year for freshmen all day, and that completely did me in. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I'm glad your conference dream went well. My school dreams (which I still have) are nightmares about uncontrollable classrooms. 🤣 1w
wanderinglynn Fantastic! I really do hope you put these together into a book. 1w
dabbe @wanderinglynn I think I just might! 🤩 1w
BooksandCoffee4Me @dabbe Oh yes, do! 1w

My next Toastmasters speech will be based on one of the many themes on humanity found in my favorite book, #frankenstein

Texreader You‘re in Toastmasters? How awesome! I was in it for many many years 1w
IriDas @Texreader Yes, I just joined last year. It‘s been really helpful. Pretty sure it helped me finally get a job after a year of unemployment. 1w
Texreader @IriDas That‘s awesome. I often use everything I learned in toastmasters in my career. And I‘m so glad you‘ve joined Litsy! 1w

Beautiful simply beautiful. Gorgeous artwork. This is the story of Mary Shelley, her family and how she came to write “Frankenstein“. A must read for horror classic fan of any age.

Detectives Carson O‘Connor and Michael Maddison must save the world from a band of monsters called the New Race, engineered by Victor Helios a.k.a. Frankenstein.
I haven‘t been enjoying this book series nearly so much as his Odd Thomas series. I do like the relationship between Carson and Michael but I don‘t think it‘s enough to sustain the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Frankenstein is my favorite book ever! This book is one of the best biographies and just stuffed full of so many amazing facts about these kids who got together on a stormy night in Geneva! These young creatives gave us so much and were all tragically taken way too soon.

My first read of 2025 by one of my favorite authors of 2024! Elizabeth Lavenza's story is centered in this Frankenstein retelling full of dark machinations and obsessive relationships. As a Frankenstein lover, I adored it and fully endorse this retelling.

Scochrane26 I‘m not usually a fan of horror but liked Frankenstein. Loved this one—so creepy & tense. 4mo
