Once upon a time, I was a little girl who disappeared.Once upon a time, my name was not Alice.Once upon a time, I didn't know how lucky I was. When Alice was ten, Ray took her away from her family, her friends -- her life. She learned to give up all power, to endure all pain. She waited for the nightmare to be over. Now Alice is fifteen and Ray still has her, but he speaks more and more of her death. He does not know it is what she longs for. She does not know he has something more terrifying than death in mind for her. This is Alice's story. It is one you have never heard, and one you will never, ever forget.

#3books I've read in a day

All good books: poetry written "by" cats, kidnapped girl thriller, and sweet animal middle grade story.

Well this was a fast read. I liked that it only took a few hours to read. The story itself is so-so. Yes Alice‘s situation sucks, and in the end, everyone got what they deserved

CoffeeCatsBooks This is actually one of my go to books for reluctant readers. 7y
Cvfrailing I wasn‘t impressed either. 2y

So I final picked a #characters17 for #screamqueens and I pick myself. I loved this book. It's short but it's a killer. I wanted to scream for help for our girl so many time. It's about being a stolen child for a pedophile.

A short quick read. The story is about a girl who gets abducted and her life after the fact with flashbacks written through. It really didn't go into the story very much and just skimmed the surface of a plot that could have been a lot more.

BooksIHeld Omg this book is so good! The prose was great and I was so sunk into the narrative. It's weird to say I enjoyed it because it's awful what goes on but I did. Hope you like it too! 8y
tasha This book was a LOT darker than I expected for a YA title! Enjoyed it thoh 8y
TheLudicReader So grim, but beautifully written. 8y

I failed to feel anything for the protagonist, which says something as she was kidnapped, raped, and kept as a kiddie sex slave. If this book had been longer, I would've bailed. Boring to the Nth degree. If I want to read this subject matter I will read the real deal, like Hope by Amanda Berry.
